August will be synonymous with celebration for the very special niche of SEGA and puzzle-game fans: Jupiter has announced the international release date of Picross S Genesis & Master System Edition , their next Picross game - or logimage for the purists of the Francophonie - specially dedicated to the two cult consoles says the Japanese publisher.
This new puzzle-game will feature pixel-art paintings from the game library of Mega Drive and Master System consoles, as well as new game modes.
Pixel art in the spotlight
The Mega Picross game mode is also making a comeback. The particularity of these 150 very large puzzles is to include "Mega Numbers", ie numbers covering several vertical axes and horizons to complicate the task for the most experienced players.
Two new game modes will make their arrivals on this title: the Color Picross mode adds colors to the digital clues to complete a technicolor image while the Clip Picross mode offers players to complete 3 large pixel art images through several paintings of puzzle.
A tutorial mode will also be included to introduce the concept of Picross to neophytes.
59 games will thus make an appearance in these necessarily very retro themed puzzles including classics from the SEGA game library, but also more confidential titles:
