manaken national park Manaken National Park is a place of extraordinary natural beauty. The park, which is located in the waters of the Manado Sea, Wori District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, was established and officially made a conservation center by the Minister of Forestry in 1991. And in 2005 this island was able to attract UNESCO's attention to become one of the UNESCO World Heritage.
history says that initially this island was just a remote island that not many people had visited, coupled with the myth of the surrounding community that there were evil spirits under the sea so that divers were forbidden to dive too deep into the seabed. But then there were various divers who came to try to dive here to find the extraordinary underwater beauty, on the basis of this the divers reported it to the government so that it became a tourist spot until now even able to attract the attention of outsiders. Bunaken Island is one of the best islands in Indonesia.
Visitors are increasing even from abroad
who want to enjoy the beauty of this island until now referred to as heaven on earth. What is the background for this place to be called heaven on earth? Well it turns out that this is not without reason, this place is called heaven on earth because there are as many as 20 dive sites with a depth of about 1,344 m. The many dive sites with extraordinary marine ecosystems make many divers interested and want to experience diving in the middle of the amazing manaken marine ecosystem. Manaken marine park with an area of 890 km₂ is located in a coral triangle with various species of fish, mollusk, reptile, and marine mammal species plus a beautiful ecosystem filled with coral reefs, mangrove forests, seagrass beds to the literal zone.
With all this beauty, tourists can do marine tourism activities, diving and snorkeling to enjoy the entire marine ecosystem. Apart from being in the sea with characteristic tropical waters of Indonesia, the land is also able to spoil the eyes of tourists at this manaken marine park with the presence of palm trees, woka, silar, sago and coconut which are part of the manaken sea friend and will continue to be preserved and protected.
The park is rather lovely, as you can see by the peaceful atmosphere. It will be an excellent location for spending quality time.
