Only a Thought Can Not Accomplish a Plan

in OCD2 years ago

Planning is one very important step for getting anything done well in life. It is the bedrock for every achievement in life. Planning for everything that should be done well can be tasking and demanding, as it’s involves thinking and action taking. I call it the two phases of planning; “thinking and acting”.

But lots of people have problem understanding these phases, not knowing how to put them to work, so they only rely on the phase one of the planning stage which is thinking and they are never able to get anything done for themselves.

I got talking with an old friend of mine from primary school. It was quite a long time we met. We were separated from each other. When we met, I was happy seeing him after a long time, but he doesn't seems alright at all, when I asked what exactly was wrong, he said to me “ bro! Everything is not okay”. I asked him again to tell me what exactly the problem was.

He said, “Do you know that for the past three to four years now I’ve been living for hand to mouth?" No job, no money. Just living life to chance and frustration, I need help”. This was somebody I heard some time ago that is working with one of the best company in town at a time.

When I asked about the organization he was working for, I was expecting to hear that peradventure, he was sacked but I was astonished when he told me that he resigned. When I heard ‘resigned’ I became more curious to know why.

I was wandering and contemplating within myself, what on earth would make a man who is working to resign from his job, just to become jobless. I’ve not heard that before. The next question I asked him was, “so why did you resign? To my greatest surprise, he said, “I was thinking of starting up my own business” you were thinking? I am sure you too are shucked and might probably be saying that, what sought of foolishness is that. But I tell you, that is where most people’s problems are emanating from.

A lots of people had fallen from grace to grass, from hundred (100) to zero (0) percent in life because of their over-reliance in their thought. I don’t see it as foolishness but ignorance, and that is because they keep thinking until they don’t know what action exactly to take in order to implement or put their ideas into work.

Like my old friend who had an idea to set up a business for himself but didn’t consider taking necessary actions or putting some measures in place before going ahead to resign from his existing job.

Relatively, a number of people out there have had or having an ideas to do something, and they are nourishing these ideas with thought, and they are not taking any action, they believe that it is already enough to bring something forth in reality, which is practically impossible.

The best thing anyone who has a plan can do for him herself is wake up from that place of thinking, don’t leave, stay there but don’t sleep in it. Just wake up and start getting things done.

Take actions! If not, your plans will never be accomplished. It was Henri Bergson, who once said, “To get things done, you think like a man of action, and act like a man of thought”.

Thinking is not bad, for it is only when you think that you can take the right actions. But don’t let your plans stop at the thinking phase alone, bring in action.

Other people may have the ideas but really don’t know what exactly to do in order to bring to its achievement. If you are in that category, then you need consultations, ask questions, do not relax and keep on thinking. Ask people questions because there is nothing that is totally new in this life. If you don’t know something, somebody else somewhere knows it and even knows very well.

in conclusion, I like to say that whenever you have an idea to do something, let your plan for execution begin with proper thinking, them grow your thought into necessary action to enable you see your dreams come to pass.

OCD community is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
