My Visit to Stephen Keshi Stadium at Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.

in OCD3 years ago (edited)

For a very long time now, I have been wanting to visit the Stephen Keshi Stadium again since after the AFCON qualifier between Nigeria and Sierra Leone football match hosted in the Asaba Delta State, Nigeria in 2020. I can't really remember who won the football match exactly but I know that the fifteen thousand, four hundred capacity Stephen Keshi Stadium was full to the point where am sure if something fell from you, you won't be able to find it again.

Stephen Keshi Stadium at Asaba

Right inside the stadium during the match some people were selling their sitting position to make some money from those who entered the stadium late and are standing, trust me we Nigerians can make money from anything, although I don't support the idea of selling sitting position, but the truth is who am I to stop them or tell them what to do.

Enough about the match that happened in 2020, let me talk about my little unplanned visit to the stadium after a year because I haven't been in Asaba for some time now, but have always planned to go to the stadium to take some pictures any time I was in town. the funny thing is even when I was in Asaba, I couldn't find time to visit the stadium as planned because of work, I'm always busy 24/7 (all the time).

As faith or let me say luck will have it, I tried doing the normal monthly subscription for the office Router because the subscription has expired, and I was debited but the Router wasn't credited with the unlimited data plan as usual, so I had to go to the bank which was not that far from the stadium, after sorting my issues with the bank I was on my way home in a cab when we passed the stadium, I didn't want to stop but I saw a rare opportunity because I was free at work that day so I decided to finally visit the stadium once again.

After I and my colleague who's a fellow hiver came down from the cab, we took a tour around the stadium, @attentionneeded who's the colleague am talking about, was my camera guy for the day, we took a lot of amazing pictures of each other before we left the stadium, pictures from the basketball court, to the football pitch, swing pool, race track, the sitting area.

During our tour of the stadium, we stumbled into an all female basketball competition, the game was a really lovely one but we could not stay till the end of the game because we had to still take a stroll around the stadium, which was fun on like the other time I visited the stadium, when everywhere was overcrowded, this time it was a lot more peaceful and quiet and I loved it. I don't know if it's just me but some unplanned outings could turn out to be a lot more fun than some planned outings.

Thanks guys for reading and visiting my blog

Omo me I don't use to take pictures if I go to places oo.. this one is a motivation for me especially the fact that it will help me get pictures for hive posting...

I really love your pictures!!!

Great one.
One of the best stadiums in nigeria currently.

Thank you and yes it is one of the best stadiums in Nigeria.

Cool, I've never done a stadium tour before. I hope to get to London and do one at the Emirates. If you're posting about traveling and locations like this it would perform a lot better in communities like HaveYouBeenHere that focuses on this type of content. The OCD community is meant for content that doesn't fit in anywhere else.

I hope you do visit the Emirates Stadium soon, and when you do, I would love to know your experience, I won't mind if you tag me on the post so it will be easy for me to find.

Also, thanks for the HaveYouBeenHere community advice, I would explore more, I really appreciate you.

Thanks so much and I'm glad I could carry you along with my post.

The grass looks well maintained and looks like people are still practicing here. When was the last time the stadium had an event? Is it still allowed to host big games during the pandemic?
