I would be interested in hearing from those that have chosen to migrate to Hive and that will be using Hive over steem moving forward. I spent a long time on steem and made many friends and gained many followers. I don't have time to be producing content for both platforms every day and curating and engaging on both daily.
I want to hang out where my friends and followers will be. If that's both platforms, then so be it, I too will hang out on both, but my time on both will be limited. Maybe I will decide to stay on steem - maybe I will decide to move to Hive. Being honest, I don't really know what to do but what I have noticed is that the engagement on my posts over on steem suggests many people have the same dilemma as me and are also not sure what to do.
Many have said they are migrating 100% to hive as of now. No more steem, that's it. It's dead!!!!
I have has people say they will be continuing to use steem until the power down is done
I have seen a number of people say that they will be using both - Hive and Steem
I have heard people say they want to stay on steem but are afraid too
And I have seen the toxic comments from some towards those that have chosen not to move to hive and have stayed to support steem, which puts me off hive as much as Justin puts me off steem.
Who's powering down Steem? Who's powering down Hive? Who's powering up steem? Who's powering up Hive?
I want to be where my friends and following are, and right now, I still don't really know where that is and where that will be. What's your take on all of this? Where do you think you will be? Where you do think you will engage most with others and where do you think you will get the most engagement?
I look forward to reading your comments, try to be honest and there is no need for badness, I don't want to be part of any immature turf war between steem and hive and its users
Stay safe - stay at home
moved to Hive. Additionally, I deleted my steem posts, with a redirect to Hive. steem is ded.
"I deleted my steem posts, with a redirect to Hive." so cool. we should all do this
I was also thinking a bit, but I have made my mind and I'm going full 100% on Hive. I have stoped posting on Steem, started powering down, and now I'm just thinking when to cut the autovoting.
Maybe it sounds silly to some but I really dont wanna support people like Justin, who is acting lime spoiled arogant rich kid. This crypto should be to opt out of things like that.
I'm still posting a bit on steem. I wrote a similar post there and was surprised with the number of replies, but I did get more here
I am not going to shuffle between two platforms, and I am very unimpressed by Sun's childishness and the whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth. Powering down all my steem and powering up HIVE. Plus same with @naturalmedicine. Most of my friends moved too, although a still might be milking rewards over there as well only to power it down later. Don't blame them, and I will when I can be bothered!!! Come hang with the in crowd on HIVE, @paulag, you know you wanna...
What she said... powering down steem, 100% Hive. Let the fence sitters be... apart from showing us who they are, they will be over to Hive 100% soon as steem no longer has a strong dev team and is having maintenance issues while the dapps are mostly jumping ship.
well, steem no longer has a dev team already and there are many many more of us fence-sitters than you might like to think. But you make a great point, and its not the first time it has been made to me, being that they no longer have devs
Justin sun is not the only one being childish. so many here are acting poorly too,
Oh agreed without a doubt. Funny - a disproportionate amount of men. Am I wrong?
I am in the throes of powering down, moving every couple of days slowly. Will be here permanently soon, I too do not enjoy working over both platforms.
After seeing one post that was put up by Justin I would never support a person who talks to others in such a manner, despicable for any person in business! No excuse about language barrier, that was said with intent, made my mind up then and there.
See you as soon as we all settle after move, always in African Time 😀
@tipu curate
lol have you seen how some on hive talk to others. Justin is far from perfect, and I have no intent on supporting him either.
Me neither, but there's a mischeivous imp in me wanting to do something really immature right now...
Don't you mean a mischievous chimp?
Stop monkeying around ;>)
oh man what's going to happen when the imp breaks free, with the current lock-up, I bet it will happen 😂
Man, I am already ratting my cages, I tell ye!
Am here! @tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 6/18)
:-) thanks for the tip @davidke20 and thank you for stopping by.
I will be 90% on Hive until my powerdown is mostly done. I expect steem and hive price to drop...eventually it will get to a point where it doesnt make sense to continue to sell my steem (low price) and at that point I'll stop my powerdown and sit on it.
I too expect to see the price of both drop, but then I expect to see the price of crypto drop more due to covid so I guess the better product with the most activate community will come out on top when the world get back to normal
I'll be putting my long form content on here and will now be using Steem for my creative work - daily poetry and photography.
Interesting that you have content for both. most of us don't.
I'm moving over to Hive 100% and most people I follow(ed) seem to be doing the same. I am powering down Steem ( might keep a little bit in there in case of future pumps, but 13 weeks is a lot of time to decide ), I am also powering down some Hive atm but that's mainly because I'm 100% into crypto and I need some money to pay the bills and get some food on the table.
I must say that Steemit just doesn't feel like home any longer, no matter how much it did in the past. Time for a fresh start.
thank you for sharing. Its good to see so many activate on this post, I guess it gives me a little more hope
I will be focusing my time and content on Hive. I will be cross-posting everything on Steem after I finish it on Hive so I can continue what I've done over on Steem but I am powering down most of my Steem. I will probably leave 1k SP to curate some and have a slight holding if once things settle down, the platform can continue. Not too confident but I don't want to remove all the cards I've had, I wouldn't mind some separation of my assets.
Justin has shown time and again his attitude towards people who don't see eye to eye with him and I only think it will get worse. I don't mind having some stake over there but I also don't want to be too exposed. There's no guarantee but I feel my stake is safer on here and I can produce content that is rewarded.
In my cross-posting to Steem, I've gotten little-to-no rewards for the same posts I put over here that make several dollars. It's not much compared to what others make per posts, but outside of automation, there is not much left for folks like me who rely on manual curation and users finding my content, rather than just setting up an auto-vote that so many of the common authors benefit from. I enjoy reading their content, not to name any names, but I feel most of their rewards are just automated votes on Steem because they've gotten consistent votes no matter the post. It feels pretty negative right now, that if you're not in the circle-jerk of votes, you don't earn much.
well there is still a large circle-jerk on steem of hive users, and I'm not part of it so I don't earn much over there, actually, I don't earn much here either so I guess for a lot of us, its not really about the money
I have.
will you rebrand your car?
Already removed the stickers. I've got a whole bunch of Steem branded umbrellas as well that now feel pretty silly.
After crapitalism from "communist" influenced, "sun shines brighter with me", Justintheway sun, came into the mix, by force, I got more uncomfortable with being on steemit. I had just created an account on February this year. I had previous account 2 years before that but unfortunately lost myself in personal matters and resulted in starting over again.
I am not down with the money system or monetary system, since I know it's doomed to crash again, and hive will feel it in due time. I am here for the decentralized networking. Spreading truth, questioning the fundamentals, ethics and morality. I am here to express myself.
I will be using Hive since they kept the decentralized part going. I wonder how long that will last. As long as "they" want to of course.
until then, my steem account will just be link posts to the hive from my blog.
maybe one day crapitalists will see the monetary system is useless for humanity.
Good reading this morning. bring important points.
If there is turf wars I will be sure to point out the leaks from the water buckets as they claim it holds water.
cheers. have a wonderful 420 month. peace and love.
sincerely, a very frustrated child.
well said
I moved to Hive.
I am:
I am using Hive primarily, will cross-post some 'neutral' (not Hive related) content on Steem to keep in touch with those who are still on Steem, and comment and curate on their posts.
This will probably stop in 3 months time tough. Because I love Appics I might still show up in posts on Steem but just because I would use Appics.
I've made many friends on Steem but I've made a quick 'guesstimate' that 80% of my primary circle of Steem friends is now on Hive - making the decision to leave Steem behind a lot easier.
yea I think most are now activate on hive, although looking at @arcanges daily stats, numbers are low. goes to show how much of the activity on steem was bot driven. I hope it wont be the same here soon
I wouldn't mind trying to keep both going, but can barely keep on top of one platform, never mind two! I'm still dropping in on Steem on occasion, but most of my communities are here on Hive, so there's very little going on back on Steem. Mostly it's just tying up loose ends there.
"I have seen the toxic comments from some towards those that have chosen not to move to hive and have stayed to support steem"
That's disappointing. There are a few occurrences that have been a bit disappointing when it comes to Hive, like certain people being missed for the airdrop for trying to remain neutral.
Everything's a bit shaky on both blockchains at the moment, but I do feel that once everything is up and running properly on Hive, most of the activity will be here.
yea I think hive will be the more active platform myself. and for sure it would be way too hard to keep both going
So no, im not staying on STEEM.
...that will be on HIVE. Your experience continues here. The soul of Steem continues on HIVE. The "STEEM" that is left now is just STEEM by name. Its a privately owned blockchain, it has nothing to do with what was before.
privately owned suits some people and they should not feel ashamed for feeling that way. Although it's not what I think blockchain should be
Who would a privately owned blockchain suit except the person owning it?
The person that is ok with their funds being at the whim of a pathological liar in an unregulated industry where that same liar can make any move or change to the blockchain he very well pleases without any repercussion ... that person is an absolute, irredeemable, undeniable idiot.
If folks want to farm, fine... but holding funds on a privately owned blockchain , owned by a guy thats a blatant scammer is beyond insane.
This isnt facebook wer speaking of where Zuck cant fake anything major without the law coming down on him.
This is crypto where taint like Justin fake EVERYTHING. Deceit is encouraged by the crypto market at large.
...You say in the post something that rubs me the wrong way..
Those people that choose to stay on Steem and dismiss HIVE, either do not fully understand what is going on, do not care about anything beyond a few dollars they get (which is fine. its expected) or are absolutely morally corrupt individuals. And i dont say this lightly.
A good example is Steemchiller, being someone that people respect in the community due to Steemworld. He is a morally corrupt individual whose values stand against everything any freedom loving individual should stand for.
Creating an equivalence between those that despise centralization and corruption in crypto and are vocal about it, and one of the most corrupt individuals in crypto( Justin) is beyond unfair.
Steem is no longer the "STEEM you know". Its a twisted abomination masquerading as a blockchain.
Although I've been inactive for quite a while, I am powering down my steem and using it to purchase Splinterlands cards and will not be powering down my Hive. I still very much enjoy playing Splinterlands (almost daily) and I'm not super fussed that they're still mostly on the Steem blockchain. I love the energy that Hive has, it kind of feels like the olden days, and while I'm not as excited as I once was to collect tokens, I really enjoy the community.
community is whats its all about really! those that were around for the tokens, well only a few really made it and will do so on hive too
Exactly! I keep checking out Hive because that's where my friends are!
Just this, HIVE gets the fresh content, STEEM gets the 2yr old re-posts.., though some of them are OK!
I wonder are steem getting any new users and new content or is it all spam and reposts
There are some who are creating new content, most of it seems to be spam and reposts. New users seems to have gone by the wayside for the moment on both platforms. We do need more people, its the same crowd.
I have not been using steem for a while now. In fact, I haven't bothered to check out the things happening over there. Only thing I'm concerned is I have been powering down for a while and I want to convert them to a different form.
I personally prefer HIVE over STEEM.
will you buy hive with your steem?
I have already bought some. I will convert the rest into Fiat.
I am mostly on Hive but still finishing off some contests on Steem. I have powered down just a little on both platforms and purchased some more Bitcoin.
I will continue using and promoting Hive but there are still some projects on Steem that I like and I will leave some Steem there hoping to see it go up in value.
I still can't believe that JS's pride will allow him to let Steem die! Who knows.
I'd like to see both projects succeed from a purely financial perspective (greed).
lol I love your honesty and wish more people would do the same. I started a power down on steem the night justing voted in his witnesses, so I do have the ball rolling. I might use some to buy bitcoin too
I am powering down over there and reposting my greatest hits whilst I do and posting original stuff I have here. I think there aren't a lot of people left over there and the spam will repair get out of hand and kill it dead. Unless they do something about it.
lol do something like what, censor it lolololololol
Lol. You never know it seems to be the stock answer!
I"m really loving PeakD and I think it has a bright future. It's going take some effort to rebuild but i think it's worth it.
I love peakd too, yeps it rocks
I moved over to Hive and am powering down Steem.
so many are powering down, but so many are also powering up, I wonder who is buying all this steem that is being sold
In my humble opinion…...It’s seems like steem is the Hive community.
Hive feels strong, the community seems happy on Hive, seems like it’s a new day, a fresh start, logical switch.
So I am all in on Hive.
However it seems like 99% of the people out there all have cash reserves and are not worried about they are going to get spendable fiat currency during the next few months.
I do not I have cash reserves,
I have to do business now.
So I will post content that is 100% business related hoping to find other merchants somewhere in the World who might want to exchange Hive in the transactions.
Hoping for the best for the community
Rich
yea it is not really possible to live off steam or hive right now and like you, I don't have a cash reserve so I have to work other ways to earn a living
I have been focusing on Hive and only rarely visit Steem.
Interesting to read all the comments here and everyone says they're moving to Hive or at least not not posting on Hive. Perhaps those die hard Steem fan either don't read Hive post or don't dare to voice their allegiance.
I'm definitely in the all in Hive till power down Steem camp. I am still posting on Steem having funthere in a different way which I didnt'allow myself previously. Once I've powered down, which I never did in my two + years on Steem, that will be it for me. No looking back.
I'm glad that two of the communities I am closely associated with, OCD and Steemitworldmap are fully dedicated to Hive, otherwise that would be a shame. In fact the Steemitworldmap migrated and rebranded ourselves as @pinmapple within a couple of days after Hive started. It's tough to have to start afresh again as we need to build up all the followers and delegations again, but that is totally worth doing. It never crossed our minds not to do it.
Steem is dead to me. 100% Hive!
I'm powering down Steem and am 100% on Hive.
I have been doing some curation voting on Steem while I still have some voting power, but then I'm done.
power down both - only posting on hive at the moment
power down both lol probably not a bad idea under the current global situation, do you have any faith in either hive or steem?
actually i am quite impressed by the hive fork. Actually IMMEDIATELY usable and tradeable. But still, Hive has to hit 10 mio registered users (>1 active users) to stay relevant as a social network (in my opinion). The fork resulted in some promo within the cryptosphere. I also see some older accounts revived.
