Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!
I know hard forks are always associated with some high amounts of uncertainty and unpredictability but I am still surprised by the crazyyy Steem price pump we are experiencing right now.
The reason is obvious: the news about the upcoming hard fork and the Hive Token airdrop have been spreading fast in the crypto world and a lot of people are now buying Steem to get more Hive Tokens in the airdrop tomorrow as it will be given in the 1:1 ratio.
It´s been ages since Steem was in the top 40 on the CoinMarketCap but there you go :)
What are you guys doing? Are you buying Steem? Are you selling? Or hodling? That also makes me wonder what will actually happen with Steem after the hard fork and the community exodus.
As far as I know, Justin Sun still holds dozens of millions of Steem so actually it should be in his own interest to try to prevent the chain and Steem price from collapsing.
What do you think he will do after the hard fork? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below, I would love to know them :)

Well I am mostly hodling. To late to power down to catch these great prizes and partly I am selling. The small amount of liquid steem I do have is sold. Trying to recup some investments before the value of steem will turn into dust!

Well, I have never powered down but now I regret some of my recent little sells of liquid Steem :D I didn´t really see this one coming. So you think the Steem chain and the Steem prize will collapse after the fork?

Justin was in a difficult situation. His behavior will depend on his plans for Steam.
-If he acquired the blockchain as technology for his plans and is going to upgrade it in his own way, then he doesn’t need a community (I don’t know his plans, maybe he needs an advertising platform or something else) and he’s happy with the Hive department.
-If he acquired the community as a flock of sheep for shearing, then the loss of the herd makes his purchase useless. In this case, selling your tokens at a price higher than usual could be an acceptable solution for him. If you do not sell, then you need to effectively manage the remaining community (not everyone will leave immediately, the withdrawal of assets takes time, during this time you can offer something really interesting and people will stay).
He has other options for sure. But I don't see a single good (not a single good).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, sounds very reasonable to me. I think only time will tell what his plans actually were since his words cannot be really trusted much...
I think that he is an experienced player and nobody knows his real plans. Yes, time will show the result of actions. But time cannot tell anything about his plans, not all plans come true :)

Is it really just (mostly) them? The pump has been really massive...
I think you can expect a huge dump tomorrow. Will the price collapse? Probably not no. I wonder where to buy the new hive token from. I wouldn't mind buying in a little bit (besides the air drop) I would imagine thr early hive coins will be sold super cheap until the coin finds its value.
That´s a good point actually. Obviously, the new tokens will be very hard to get outside the new chain, which could potentially increase their value. Let´s see how it all pans out :)
