Learning a new software - blender

in OCD3 years ago

Blender is an open source software, free for all and is used to make really cool graphic images as well as for animation. Being an architecture student I have been exposed to many 3D Visual softwares such as Sketchup, 3ds Max, Revit and I got to say that although the software is a little hard to learn and understand, the end result and the renders are Beautiful.
Like every person who has started learning blender from youtube, I started out the same way, by making a simple donut. A very detailed and step by step tutorial by Blender Guru. That is the first step you should take if you want to explore Blender.
I wanted to explore a few sci-fi concepts by just using common shapes and using the knowledge that I have. And I came up with these renders .

The first and second year of architecture, we made a lot of models using materials such as clay, wood, metal, anything that we could get our hands on. And then when the model is done, they would instruct us to use direct sunlight and take a few pictures of the model in different positions and angles. Same thing with indirect sunlight. With this exercise we would learn the shape of the shadows and how they work. The buildings that we build are designed considering the directions (north-south) and the sun path and now architectural 3D softwares provide an option of showing these sunpath and shadows which inturn helps us design better buildings with respect to its climate.

In this Software, I have explored three things Colours, Lights and Shadows. Playing with angle of light, shadows etc. The hardest part of learning this software is understanding their texture system. Applying texture to the model is very confusing and may take a lot of time to figure out but it will definitely be worth it.

I will be exploring more with this software since its fun to learn. Much more content coming soon your way. Stay tuned. Thank you for reading this far. I'll see you all in my next post.

Yasss less goooooo🔥🔥🔥

This is awesome @pittonaggak

This is proof that with consistency, we can learn anything and grow rapidly.

I am also learning how to use Autocad for electrical designs too.

I wish you good luck with your learning. Much love my friend😍

Thank you so much @chosenfingers autocad is a great software for design. I wish you good luck with your learning too.🔥untitled.gif
