I chose to hold the leaf it was on so you could get an idea of its size. It was really mellow and for some reason seemed to look happy. It didn't mind me photographing it. Actually it's mouth is at the end of that long snoot.
This is a Weevil. I've read that there's over 97,000 different Weevil species worldwide. If I had to take a guess I would say this is probably a clay colored root weevil. I haven't read anything good about weevils. They seem to be a threat to our food from the seeds to the plants all the way up to and including our packaged foods in pantries.
