Kendrick Lamar performed in an event called "The Pop Out – Ken & Friends”. The concert was a one-night-only show held at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California to celebrate Juneteenth. The event featured other artists like Dr. Dre, Tyler, the Creator, Steve Lacy, YG, Roddy Ricch and Dom Kennedy.
Lamar performed several songs which includes hits like “Euphoria,” “ELEMENT,” “DNA,” “Alright” and “Swimming Pools” and collaborations with Black Hippy rappers Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolBoy Q.
He also performed "Not Like Us" multiple times throughout the show. By multiple I mean five times.
The event was livestreamed on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch.
It was attended by several high-profile guests, including LeBron James, The Weeknd, Rick Ross, Russell Westbrook, Big Boy and DeMar Derozan. It also featured up-and-coming LA rappers and stars, including Tyler, The Creator, Steve Lacy, YG, and a reunion of Lamar's supergroup Black Hippy.
The event was seen as a "victory lap" for Lamar following his rap battle with Drake.
Lamar used the opportunity to pay tribute to West Coast hip-hop and Los Angeles, bringing out rappers and performers from different parts of the city on stage for a group photo.
He ended the concert with a call for unity, saying "We done lost a lot, a lot, of homies to this music s---, a lot of homies to some street s---. And for all of us to be on this stage together, unity from each side of motherf------ L.A. ... this s--- is special, man."
The event was a huge success, with all the tickets for the event selling out instantly.
