Came across a killer deal that must be shared...
this video hit my recommendations and lured me in.
I haven't used Photoshop much - partly because their subscription model doesn't appeal. paying a crapload per month for something I don't use often seems a shitty deal, when there are tons of other softwares that you just pay once for and it's yours. Photoshop used to have that option... though since they went subscription and kept up jacking up the price, I could never be bothered to get it and invest the time & energy into learning to use it properly.
for whatever reason, this video had a magnetism to it. and within an hour or so, out came the credit card.
$109 CAD for a lifetime license for Affinity's three alternatives to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign on a 50% off sale.
Considering each of those from Adobe would cost $30/month, this was a no-brainer.
Time shall tell how often I'll actually use it. But hey, doesn't hurt to have easy access to some great creative tools even if its rarely.
No idea how long the sale is on for, but figured this is worth sharing in case anyone else interested, as it's a fantastic deal for any creatives who'd use it...
Dang, that does seem like a good deal! The subscription model has been ticking a lot of people off in the education space. I guess they shouldn't be surprised though, that's kind of the way everything is moving these days. I try to use open source stuff when I can. It's not always possible though.
Subscriptions are ok sometimes. but Adobe’s prices are just absurd, especially considering you used to be able to buy Photoshop outright for $100.
Yeah, it's a joke. I am running into a similar issue with VMWare. Broadcom recently bought them and jacked the prices up 60%
