RE: Adulting with me, Episode 3 | Life is a journey not a competition mindset

in OCD4 years ago

This is one of the reasons why I am very eager to homeschool my daughter. Children usually learn in a classroom setting and because of that, comparison is really difficult to avoid. The rankings in class, the recitation, the exams, the grades, etc. Not to mention the new shoes, bags, clothes of the classmates. It's not easy to stick to the mindset of not comparing when everyone around you is comparing themselves too.

The only true success to me is the happiness you feel when you become a better person than yourself yesterday. Thank you for sharing your learnings and your adulting journey with us. Keep up the good work. :)

I agree maam. Classroom setting is really effective however there's an implication to the character of the students too. I also want my nieces to grow not thinking that they have to compete and prove themselves to other people like they really have to know as long as they are happy about themselves they are already successful but of course it doesn't mean they have to settle for less they also have to always look for improvements but not to the point they have to compromise their relationships and well being.
