This was supposed to be a great weekend, I had been waiting for a couple of months to go on my first long biking ride with an e-bike. I rented the bike yesterday and drove for 1,5 hours to spend the weekend in the mountains with some friends.
We woke up early and started doing what was going to be an 8 loop, taking the path of an ancient Roman Vía.
Nice slightly cloudy day, with not too much heat, and the sensations on the e-bike were excellent but...
The bike just broke after one hour of going uphill ☹️
I didn't have too much time to enjoy myself on the e-bike but at least I was able to take the road back to the cabin we have rented and will have time to relax for the rest of the weekend. I enjoyed very much riding and will consider getting one soon!
I did not crash or anything so I have the feeling it might be a factory issue, these bike frames have several years of warranty so hopefully, as there are no scratches at all, the store will believe it was not my fault at all :)

This is the first time I saw bicycle frame broken like that. It should be a heavy hit. I think the warranty will help you. Enjoy the weekend !
No hit at all, actually I didn't even notice until one of my friends told me when we stopped for a rest. I believe it is a factory defect.

Actually, I will claim them a free weekend as it was a rented product and it is clearly a factory defect. No scratches at all on the bike to produce that amazing damage.

The first photo is like a painting. The clouds, the mountains and the mist all gives that painting feeling. Reminds me of a battle background in the Heroes of Might and Magic video game series. The photo should also be good as a postcard.

Yes. Every product from China has a "factory issue".
It was the factory's fault, where they intentionally produce Chinese junk. The world should boycott these things. But good luck with the warranty.

I've never heard of a bike frame breaking like that without some kind of impact, that's crazy. Really bad luck on your part. GL with the rest of the weekend going better
