I woke up this morning,

And this was my awesome view.
I opened up the hatch doors and gazed out, wonderin’ what to do

The day looked nice.

But the day only just sarted.
So i better get me something to eat

As a matter of fact.
The whole day was mine

The whole day was nice

But even though the skies clear
It was as cold as ice

But the boat was comfy

And the boat was warm

And i just knew
We would come to no harm

I got the winter boat blues,
Next day was gray
Da na na na naaa
Next day was wet
Da na na na naaa
So we moved to the city
For some supplies to get

Then as it got dark
Da na na naa naa
And the day came to an end
Da na na naa naaa
I sipped on my whisky
And prayed this was not a trend

I got the winter narrow boat blues.
Yes, that works as a blues song for sure!
It was a thing i used to do years ago at an old work place. Quite often someone would start telling a story with ‘1 woke up this morning’ and I’d go da na na naa naa. And it was almost like the started to adapt the way they told the story into a blues song after. Haha

lookin' good, for today. I hope the winter is warm enough. Are you planning anything fun for winter canal cruising? or hunkering down in one marina?
No marinas for us. Just gonna keep cruising. On the 17th some of the winter closures for maintenance remopen and then we are a little more able to move about. Staying in one place is boring. Haha
True, but you can only sit in one place for 14 days, if I remember my canal rules correctly?
I know many get excited when the Canal Trust opens all the parts closed for maintenance! It means more exploring and more moving about.
Yup 14 days then you are supposed to move but we’ve never stayed that long anywhere. Keep moving After 3 days i wanna go!
