Let me share a story about the yellow army that we always meet in every corner of the city. They are Cleaning Officers with many varied duties. Some of them are cleaning and maintaining city parks, some of them are sweeping roads and markets, some of them are transporting and disposing of household waste.
I don't know what clothes that they wear at your place, but today, I would like to share with you the Yellow Squad especially that I mentioned in the last. Of course, It's not to degrade their job but how they have taught us and me personally about valuable life lessons.
It has become a routine sight in my place, every morning they are come to our house for one purpose to pick up the household garbage. Maybe some people see them just with one eye, maybe its because the jobs they are carried out are not very interesting, maybe a job they don't get because of limited qualifications in other fields of work such as low levels of education and poor skills.
But did you know that the community and their job have contributed much to human values? Is that true? Yups, at least I think from their life's journey there are some things that can be a great record that they have taught us something very useful for this life.
First, Discipline.
The social problem that has always been a big problem faced by everyone in a formal and non-formal organization is discipline. In the workplace, there are always discipline issues, although the percentage of undisciplined is very varied.
We like it or not, the discipline issue is very important in determining the production results and achieving the targets that have been set on. Today, My Yellow Army teaches me a lesson that I believe in and apply it from the beginning. Yups, the Discipline. I'm never late for school and work and always finish my assignments on time. The position I got today is the result of my success in applying discipline to myself, my family and my workplace.
In fact, without being known, they have taught us that discipline. I always noticed them every day at 7.30 AM, the Yellow Army had stopped in front of my house to pick up my household trash and other houses. If you look at the size of the salary, then my salary and their salary are not comparable, but why do they still carry out the discipline values? In my opinion, they are good at maintaining discipline, they have a steadfast heart to be consistent and maybe loyal to the work.
Second, they taught us to work hard.
We can see this from their activity that never stops carrying out its duties. Every day, at the same time as before, maybe with the same clothes as the previous day, encountering the same object and same environment. the situations like this sometimes lead them to boredom and impatience, especially if they feel their job is low.
Hard work, that's right. Hard work is a self-defence effort to face the challenges of the times, hard work does not see who and where the work takes place, but how the results of the work look, can be measured and not always get appreciated by others. The Yellow Army is able to prove it all. The same teamwork who I always meet always smile and stay focused on getting their work done even though I've been watching them work.
Third, they taught us to work together.
The Yellow Army that I meet every day are the same people and same work in a team, each one doing their job well, not hating each other, give elbowing each other, jealous and no want to bring other to down.
The driver who always drive the garbage truck slowly and never drive quickly, the person who is collecting the garbage don't want to throw it away again, the person who picks up the garbage never tries to drop the trash onto another. They work according to their jobs and support each other.
Fourth, they teach us about responsibility and consequences.
So far, I have never once seen an officer who was reluctant to do the task he had to complete. They also never procrastinate on work. Before 9 am they are ready to carry out their duties to the final landfill for processing.
Well, we can learn a lot about life from all angles lives itself, today I got many lessons from the duties and behaviour of the Yellow Army and understand how to interpret a life that we have gained. I'm sure you also met them at your place, so what did you learn from them? Let's share stories here. Hopefully, this story is useful for us dan hope all of us are happy in any condition.

Izinkan aku berbagi cerita tentang pasukan kuning yang selalu kita jumpai di setiap pojok kota. Mereka adalah petugas kebersihan dengan tugas yang bervariasi. Diantara mereka ada yang bertugas dibidang kebersihan dan perawatan taman kota, ada yang bertugas menyapu jalan dan pasar, ada pula yang bertugas mengangkut dan membuang sampah rumah tangga.
Aku tidak mengetahui baju apa yang mereka pakai di tempatmu, namun hari ini, aku secara khusus ingin menyoroti pasukan kuning yang disebutkan terakhir, tentunya bukan untuk merendahkan pekerjaan mereka namun lebih kepada bagaimana mereka memberi pelajaran hidup yang tidak ternilai kepada kita dan saya pribadi tentunya.
Sudah menjadi pemandangan rutin di tempatku, setiap pagi mereka menghampiri rumah kami untuk satu tujuan yaitu mengangkut sampah rumah tangga. Banyak orang melihat mereka dengan sebelah mata, mungkin karena tugas yang mereka emban tidak terlalu menarik menurut sebagian orang, mungkin juga suatu pekerjaan mereka itu bukan didapatkan karena keinginan namun karena keterbatasan kualifikasi di bidang pekerjaan yang lain seperti tingkat pendidikan yang rendah dan skill yang tidak bagus.
Tetapi tahukah kalian, bahwa komunitas dan pekerjaan mereka telah banyak memberikan kontribusi untuk nilai-nilai kemanusiaan. What? setidaknya menurutku dari perjalanan hidup mereka ada beberapa hal yang dapat menjadi catatan besar bahwa mereka telah mengajarkan kepada kita sesuatu yang sañgat bermanfaat bagi kehidupan ini.
Pertama, Kedisiplinan.
Problema sosial yang selalu menjadi masalah besar yang dihadapi semua orang dalam sebuah organisasi formal dan non formal adalah persoalan kedisiplinan. Di lingkungan tempat bekerja, selalu saja ada persoalan kedisiplinan meski mungkin persentase tidak disiplin ini berbeda-beda.
Suka atau tidak, masalah disiplin merupakan sesuatu yang sangat penting dalam menentukan hasil produksi dan untuk mencapai target yang telah ditentukan. Dan pasukan kuning ini memberi pelajaran yang aku yakin dan terapkan dari dulu yaitu kedisplinan. Aku tidak pernah terlambat untuk bekerja dan selalu menyelesaikan tugasku tepat waktu. Posisi yang aku dapatkan hari ini adalah buah keberhasilan menerapkan kedisiplinan pada diriku sendiri, keluarga dan orang lain.
Sejatinya, tanpa kita sadari mereka telah mengajarkan kedisiplinan itu kepada kita. Aku selalu perhatikan setiap hari pada jam 7.30 WIB, Pasukan kuning itu telah berhenti di depan rumahku untuk memungut sampah rumah tanggaku dan rumah yang lain. Jika melihat pada ukuran gaji, maka gajiku dan gaji mereka tidak sebanding, namun mengapa mereka tetap menjalankan nilai-nilai kedisiplinan ? Menurutku, mereka pintar menjaga disiplin, mereka punya hati yang teguh untuk konsisten dan mungkin saja loyalitas pekerjaan itu sendiri.
Kedua, mereka telah mengajarkan pula kepada kita kerja keras.
Hal ini dapat kita saksikan dari perjalanan yang tanpa henti melaksanakan tugasnya. Setiap hari, di waktu yang sama seperti sebelumnya, dengan pakaian yang mungkin juga sama seperti hari sebelumnya, menjumpai objek yang sama, menjumpai lingkungan yang sama. Keadaan seperti ini terkadang sering menimbulkan kejenuhan dan tidak sabar apalagi jika kemudian seseorang itu merasa pekerjaan itu rendah.
Kerja keras, ya benar sekali. Kerja keras merupakan sebuah upaya pertahanan diri menghadapi tantangan jaman, kerja keras tidak melihat siapa dan dimana pekerjaan itu terjadi, akan tetapi bagaimana hasil pekerjaan itu terlihat, dapat diukur dan tidak harus selalu ada apresiasi oleh orang lain. Pasukan kuning ini mampu membuktikan itu semua. Orang yang sama yang selalu aku temui selalu menebarkan senyum dan focus menyelesaikan pekerjaannya meski aku sedari tadi melihatnya bekerja.
Ketiga, mereka telah mengajarkan kepada kita kekompakan dalam bekerja.
Pasukan kuning yang selalu sama aku temui setiap hari ini adalah orang-orang yang sama dan bekerja dalam satu team, masing-masing melaksanakan tugasnya dengan baik, tidak saling membenci, saling sikut, iri dan tidak ingin saling menjatuhkan.
Yang bertugas menjalankan truk pengangkut sampah tidak pernah menjalankan truk dengan cepat, yang bertugas mengumpulkan sampah tidak pernah ingin menghamburkan sampah itu lagi, ataupun yang bertugas menaikan sampah tidak pernah berusaha menjatuhkan tong sampah ke petugas yang lain. Mereka bekerja sesuai pekerjaannya dan saling mendukung satu sama lain.
Ke empat, para Petugas berbaju kuning ini telah mengajarkan kepada kita rasa tanggung jawab yang tinggi terhadap tugas yang sudah dibebankan dan disetujui olehnya. Belum pernah sekalipun saya melihat ada petugas yang enggan terhadap tugas yang harus diselesaikannya. Mereka juga tidak pernah menunda-nunda pekerjaan. Sebelum jam 9 pagi mereka sudah siap melaksanakan tugasnya hingga di Tempat akhir pembuangan sampah untuk diolah.
Well, ternyata dari semua sudut kehidupan ini kita bisa belajar banyak, hari ini aku mendapatkan pelajaran-pelajaran ini dari tugas dan prilaku Pasukan Kuning dan mengerti cara untuk memaknai suatu kehidupan yang telah kita peroleh. Aku yakin kamu juga bertemu mereka di tempatmu, lalu apa yang kamu pelajari dari mereka? Mari berbagi cerita.
