Rocky Dates

So our son loves to explore, he gets into so many things but it’s hard not to when you’re cooped up in the house. When he and the hubby were cleaning the room the other day he got down a jar full of stuff and I’m the bottom of the jar were these lovely memories. One of the things we have to start doing again is collecting these and dating them. We’ve got small rocks from many of the places we’ve visited but one of the things we kind of forgot to do was put the place and dates on them. I had done this with a few of the important periods in our relationship, one from a time we went to the beach early on when we were dating and some others sporadically.

One of the really cool groups were the small rocks we picked up along the way when we were in Italy. Lots of special memories for us there but we forgot we did these rock things until we just found them after many years! Can’t believe it’s already been 6 years since we were there time flies!

The other really special thing that he uncovered were these adorable wooden figurines that we bought from a store in Italy. We will have to uncover the pictures from the place we bought them at but it was such a cute and fun store. These were pretty cheap, 3 or 4 for a euro so we bought a bunch for the explicit idea that our son could play with them and treasure them when we had a kid. He was in our minds but very much not a reality when we were in Italy lol but we still planned for something like that so it was very nice to see them get uncovered after such a long period of time in storage. He’s still not quite at that age where he could play with them without utterly destroying them but maybe in a year or two these little guys can make an appearance in his LEGO displays or something.
