Last weekend we had gone to a Dino Safari that was at Faneuil hall in Boston.
We used to live about 20 - 30 minutes out from Boston when we were younger, and now that we live about an hour away, we really only go in when there is an event we think our kids would love.
Our son is a bit of a dino expert, and so we thought this would be great for him, as we were told there would be a lot of Dinosaurs. He definitely knows the difference between an Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurs, Argentinosaurus and Diplodicus, and so we were definitely expecting some cool dinosaurs at the dino safari.
We made it into Boston, found parking and made our way towards Faneuil Hall.
It was raining for most of the day, but it still didn't deter us from having some fun. The kids definitely found some cool puddles to jump in.
When we made our way into the area, there, in front of us, was a Spinosaurus!
The size was great, and it definitely made us excited to see the rest, and so we started to make our way in.
On our way in, we had to go through the market and follow the signs to head up the stairs.
When we got to the entrance, they greeted us with a Baby T-rex!
We waited our turn to enter. They were showing a 3 minute video so that they could send in small groups of 8 to 10.
I don't have any pictures of the video, as I was with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. My 4 year old watched the entire thing, but the 2 year old wanted to know what was behind the curtain.
So we went ahead in and there, in front of us were dinosaurs!
The Dinos were good quality and the lighting was great! My son was definitely naming them all and it was enjoyable.
The dinos, even the meat eaters didn't deter my kids from wanting to touch their faces.
But we made our way through.
My wife decided she wanted to show a dino some love.
Kids are kids, and they love these types of things. However, for this particular event, my son was a little disappointed. In fact, there were dinosaurs he said they didn't have, including most of the ocean dinosaurs.
So by the time we got to the end of the exhibit, it ended abruptly and we made it through in less than 30 minutes.
Even my 2 year old daughter didn't think it was over and decided to bolt all the way back to the beginning so that she could go through it again.
The entire experience was exhausting, as doing anything with toddlers is tough, but it was a good time. I would say however that the price was not worth it for Dino Safari, as there weren't a lot of exhibits to see, and it felt like it was missing something.
After we left, we went to a candy store and my kids passed out on the ride back. I would call that a success.
Ah memories of Faneuil man! Was awesome to live within walking distance of that at one point in our lives. Siena and I went there so much!
I know what you mean with the exhibit. We went to the body world exhibit there years ago before the little man was even a thought and it was pretty cool but short. I couldn’t imagine life sized dinosaurs in there lol. Still fun for the kids!
I remember the time we met up at the bar there for St Patty’s day! Man that was a lot of fun, I forget the name but now I’m going to figure it out lol
