Do we really need SMTs? Why not fuse the Communities with Scott Token from the Steem-Engine and go with that? In my eyes that is anyway the better option. To let Exchanges be exchanges and let the Chain be the Chain.
Imagine the Witnesses Power would also include Exchange typical operations. This Chain would have fallen into TRONs hands forever already.
S-E is more of a stop-gap measure and is far from well integrated in my opinion.
So create a clean interface for any exchange to interact more directly, use S-E as rolemodel maybe.
I still don‘t see a clear win in adding SMT‘s over S-E ScottToken. Considering utilization of the actually created digital currency, it should be the same. And S-E is open source as well, imagine people creating their own S-E instances to be adaptations for their special needs, beautiful.
