RE: Delivering through relationships

in OCD5 years ago (edited)

I trained at the other end of the scale and the most important part of my training was to keep it as simple as possible.

I did some work (a very long time ago) with an ad agency that was making advertisements for Papua New Guinea - and they literally had to have ads that demonstrated that in the can was food that you could eat. The message might be the same, but the delivery is going to depend on the audience.

It is a skill in patience to teach some types of content- I was a business English trainer for about a decade - and the basics killed me. :)

She uses the Canvas LMS system for her degree students after they shifted from Moodle.

This is the second time Moodle has come up this week - after not hearing it for years.

Still can't understand why the company had you at a 60% cut in the first place, as you do very important work.

I am not alone, 100% of people are affected unless 100% of their work is billable and they are fully utilized. - I am definitely not singled out, but my job means I am not delivering 8 hours a day, it is more like 15 hours a week - including prep. So the rest of my work is secondary.

And Canvas, have you heard of it?
Perhaps we are using old systems here?

I have heard of Canvas, but have never used it. The training I do is for Business to Business and generally, I am in the classroom face to face (I miss it!). For the remote deliveries, we are using Teams, GoToWebinar and several others, depending on customer needs.

Well hopefully it will not be too long before you are back in the classroom again I hope.

Our lockdown is phased reduction of restrictions from level 5 (just completed) down to level 1.
Stage 4 starts this Friday.

South Africa's risk-based lockdown plan is set to last 6 to 8 months.
Bad news is that the Covid virus peak is expected in September.

Hope that it will clear much quicker at your end!

Take care!
