There is always an opportunity in every situation. Time and season have their fruit. While it seems like the end is near, there could be light at the end of this dark time. Self-improvement has been my daily goals. Learning never ends, they say, and I have been living my life with the belief that I must keep learning every day. Before the outbreak of this pandemic, I have been learning to code (JS). I put much focus on front-end, and I am already building kinds of stuff and getting my hand strong in manipulating and writing codes. I have built websites for some clients in my proximity. So playing with codes has been my daily activities.
I already set some goals for myself in this quarantine time. I am currently working on some projects, and also making some significant changes to my project, typeearn.com. alongside my other associates. So there are tasks to work.
I would like to complete my project (Typeearn) in this quarantine period. The project is still on Steem, but we are already working locally to port on the right chain that truly supports projects like that.
BUILDING ON HIVE.
There is a tiny interface I am building to publicize, display, and support developers. Hive.blog will be the main place for interaction, but there will be another interface to show the best of the best. I will give more details about this in a post that is solely meant for it. But the little project should go live in a few days.
ON SELF-IMPROVEMENT.
In this quarantine/lock-down period, my main aim is to improve my coding skills considerably. One thing about development is that the more you write, the more you know. So, writing codes is my daily activities. I want to improve my JavaScript skills and to work on the server-side with Node JS. Also, I will take the time to learn some frameworks that are in line.
GIVING TO BE PEOPLE.
I have some of my Nephews and young lads here who I take this period to take them some basic learning of HTML/CSS. I gave them a time table an hour a day class. This is already on, and they have been improving.
This is the focus of the time. To achieve most of the things I have on my mind, I must be able to write codes and work on server-side effectively. So this self-improvement is not an option; it is mandatory. I already have some cool tutorials to learn from, and I have already been learning from them. I set out time for my tutorials, which is 4 hours a day. Sometimes I get engaged with things, and I mostly find it difficult to follow time in this quest, but I must check my time, and ensure I meet the 4 hours a day for the coding tutorials. I have over 250 tutorial videos with the of average 15 minutes each. I am currently at number 41. Sometimes I have to pause, rewind, and watch some videos over and over so I can’t divide the time on the video. However, I will set and ensure I watch 8 videos a day. So I should finish the videos in 27days. This is just for the videos. There will be more exercise to do, I might exceed the 4 hours a day sometimes, but the minimum time is 4 hours.
Learning is a process and I strongly believe that after this quarantine I will be a more active, healthy, productive and better person. I started the journey before now, I can see some positive effect on myself.
I have a time table to work on, and I have been following them to guarantee my daily productivity. I am one person that sleep late in the night but wake early and start grinding even when I need to manage my health.
ON GIVING TO PEOPLE:
I set out 1 hour a day class for my Nephews and lads in the house and the program goes thus:
Mondays 10:00am–11:00am
Tuesdays 11:00am-12:00noon
Wednesdays 12:00pm–1:00pm
Thursdays 1:00pm–2:00pm
Fridays 2:30pm–3:00pm
Saturdays 3:00pm–3:30pm
There will not be a class on Sabbath, even when we do not have the free movement to pray to God in Church for now. Sunday is for me to do my things.
On the quest of all these, I never stop working on my project (Typeearn) and the current interface I am building to showcase some contents on the hive. After this quarantine, I want to be an active full stack developer. I strongly believe I can achieve this. Also, I want to see my projects doing well on the chains and to see my current student as partners. I want to impact them so they could be better when they go back to school.
Last, at the end of this quarantine, I want to see my family complete. I don’t want to lose anyone.
Thank you!
Hey tykee!
That's awesome! I love what you're doing with your nephews!
What tutorials are you watching? I recommend you those from thenetninja, academind and traversy media (on YT).
Stay safe and have fun! :)
