"Greetings to the bodies buried here, those who have made more brilliant changes for the next generation, the 16th century period of Aceh Darussalam"

A burial complex of the Aceh Darussalam royal figure was found on Friday, ‎March ‎9, ‎2018, after a long period of neglect, some of which sank in the ground covered in shrubs, on the outskirts of Banda Aceh.

The burial complex, which presents rock carving artworks, has known of its existence by Mapesa's non-profit community organization, thanks to information from the Aceh Geohazard Project, Earth Observatory of Singapore research team.

A long story short, the Mapesa team, led directly by @mapesa chairman Mizwar Mahdi (@steemwart), immediately headed to the location of the discovery. This is normally done, Mapesa's team immediately dug the tombstone that sank in the ground and rearranged the layout of the tombstone, and then proceed to process field data collection. I arrived at the location after all processes have been completed.

The gravestone found in this tomb complex is spectacular, its variation and style never been found before. Taqiyuddin Muhammad (@keuudeip), a historical researcher who was very skilled in reading Islamic writings on ancient inscriptions, He examined each headstone one by one. So, it is known from the epitaph that those who were buried in this cemetery were important figures of the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam in the 16th century.

On the same day on Friday, ‎March ‎9, ‎2018, I immediately released the following photos in the @mapesa Facebook group (MAPESA "MASYARAKAT PEDULI SEJARAH ACEH")

Unexpectedly, it turned out that Annabel Teh Gallop is Lead Curator of Southeast Asian material at the British Library, was interested in using my work for the front cover of Indonesia and the Malay World Journal. A journal published by a British multinational publisher, Routledge. The company was founded in 1836 by George Routledge and provides academic books, scientific journals, and bold reference sources in the fields of humanities and science.

This photo is contracted for 1 year as the front cover of the journal in 2019.
Annabel Gallop said on twitter:

Well done Kevin, but also please note the beautiful new photo on the front cover of Indonesia and the Malay World @IndonesiaMalayW for 2019, by Irfan M. Nur, of a batu Aceh tombstone in the Jirat Tuan graveyard, Miruk, Krueng Barona, Jaya, Aceh Besar.
