The trees looked like this less than a fortnight ago and now they are almost completely bare. Winter is definitely on its way and I'm looking forward to frosty mornings and cosy nights in front of the fire.
Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale. - Lauren Destefano
I love going out with my camera on these long summer evenings after I finish work. The day I took this I was in a field trying to photograph a fox that I keep seeing. I've had no luck with the fox yet (other than some pretty rubbish photos from far away) but I'm hoping that my luck will change eventually.
This year was a bit different. And as such - this trip was a bit different. Stay tuned to see more about how I went where I went - and how the ‘how’ can make all the difference in what a trip can be.
The sheer amount of green in the mountains - at every turn, around every corner you can find yourself immersed in it. Towering pines and redwoods reminding you how small you are, carpets of moss lending mystical vibes to your hikes, lush ferns conjuring those Jurassic Park memories, and blue green waters inviting you for an adventure.
Whatever type of green gets you goin, you’ll find.
The annual winter "throwback to when colors other than 'white' and 'night' existed". Don't get me wrong, I love winter, but I love fall too. Shit, I love summer and spring as well. Having grown up in Florida where there's little seasonal variation, I feel like a kid in a candy store every time the landscape and energy changes with a season.
Cliché "The Spot" photo with a little extra twist. This place was so magical my first time capturing it. Since then, with publicity from all over, it has blown up! I had found myself avoiding it just to evade the crowds. The pictures just didn't seem all that special, creative, or fun anymore. Everybody has the exact same picture. Enter: Wide-angle lens. For some reason the wide view of the towering Red Pines gives it a totally different attitude. Going in the mornings when it's calm, quiet, and just me and the trees has been giving me that same peaceful and magical feeling that made me fall in love with the spot in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love that more people are getting out to experience the parks' beauty, but that one on one time with nature is super healing and crucial.
