Hello everyone 👋
As it’s now December (where did time go, right?), there are so many Christmas decorations put up everywhere as we enter the silly season. While having dinner, we saw on the community Facebook page that there were really good Christmas displays by residents in our suburb. With nothing planned on a Friday night, we decided to go for a drive around to check it out.
There were so many amazing displays this year! Some were outstanding and some were average. Some of the houses are participating in a charity cause by putting up these Christmas lights. They have a bucket outside the house to collect donations as well as having a part of their electricity bill going towards the charity of their choice.
Not only is it for a good cause but great for families to get out in the evening and go for a walk to see these displays. Apparently there is a competition happening too in the area and the prize up for grabs is money and some vouchers.
There was one that we thought was impressive! It is located in a street that’s won awards in previous years. We went for a walk one day and this very street has a little sign telling you that it’s an award winning street for its Christmas displays. Pretty cool! I wonder if it’s this very house that’s won the award. If you look closely, they had their garage open with displays and seats for people to enter and take photos. Such a great idea by going that extra mile.
Here are other photos we took. We took these from the car as it started to rain. Hopefully we can visit again and walk down the street to slowly admire these lights when the weather is better.
Strangely hubby like this one. He said it was simple but nice. I agree that it’s nice and simple but I love the elaborated decorations as it feels like winter wonderland.
On the drive back home, we talked about the idea we had last year of decorating our home with thousands and thousands of lights as well however the thought of taking them down deterred that idea.
There are many more displays being listed on the news and websites. We hope that we can find time to go for a drive to see them as we usually do every other year. It’s something we enjoy doing around this time of year!
