GodsUnchained - F2P Decks - Agro Deception

Hi everyone,

I am starting to work on a series of F2P decks! I will not use GuDecks when building them! The goal is to build a deck I can play competitively in Mythic Rank and be able to maintain a decent win rate and MMR. I know that decks built with the "Welcome set" and "Core Set" are limited, but I just wanted to show to everyone that F2P in mythic rank is possible as long as you are good at the game.

With a little bit of creativity you can get to mythic and stay there even if you never purchase a card pack in your life... Well, we all eventually win some weekend reward packs and expand our card collections, but for the sake of this series, I will work only with "Core" and "Welcome" sets. Here is what I did:

I only played 10 games with this deck, maybe the ratio will decline as more games are played, but it is good enough for a start. See all the matches and full details here

This deck is super aggressive and your goal is to finish the game as quickly as possible

How to play it

First and foremost, keep in mind the God you are facing and set up your cards in a way where you can use them against the specific god you are facing. For example: I would not hold an "Umber Arrow" if I am playing against Nature God, since nature has mostly 3+ Attack or High life low mana creatures. At the same time if you are facing the God of Light this card will be super useful, since most of the early creatures light plays have 2 attack and gives an opportunity for board control early on. You get the idea. Don't hold 4 or 5 mana cards when starting the game. Doing so will decrease your chance of winning by a lot.

Your creatures with ward are great to have in your starting hand, as well as Makeshift Shiv. "Switch Duelist" and " Skeleton Heavy" are also something I usually keep in hand when starting the game. "Deuteria" is also great option to start with.

Only God Power used with this deck is "Orfeo's Deception". You have to keep your creatures hidden most of the time. You will win games with your opponent having full board and you holding one super buffed creature (Dark Knives +2 + Trial Spirit + Assassins' Aim for example). This does not mean that if you need to spread the board, you won't have options. You will have to adjust your style of play based on the god you are facing.

There are a lot of potential card combos you can pull for the win. For example: There is only one creature with nether class in the deck " Deuteria, Manashard Mage" if you have this card in your had at the same time as "Eldrich Demonologist"(has a roar: pull you highest nether from your deck to your hand") you can pull a combo - Deuteria + Eldrich + Deuteria @ 5 mana if you have a "bag of tricks" left.

This wins the board, and 99% of the time wins the game. There are a lot of other synergies in the deck and overall I am super happy with what I came up with. I will leave the rest for you to figure out.

My only concern and potential weak link in the deck is Dart maniac. The thought of hiding it with "Assassins' Aim" and then giving it deadly with "Uncanny Rogue" seemed quite good in my mind, but it takes a perfect setup to lay that combo and with all the creatures with armor it does not do much. Keep that in mind that you can switch it for something with either more damage or something with more life or protection like "The Portable Fortress".

The 2 games I lost were both against Nature. This is going to be the toughest opponent for this particular deck. You have to pray your opponent does not carry a lot of removal spells. Other than that I think it's crushing it. And that's it, give it try, let me know what you think. If you have a better version of F2P Agro Deception, please share bellow.

We are all waiting with anticipation for the new upgrade to the core set and all the new cards which will give more options and possibilities for all players. This is to be expected sometimes soon, until then, have a good time with what you have and go win some $GODS.

See you on the battlefield !!! Follow GU updates here!
