It's been less than a month since I joined this great Hive community & just yesterday I got the honour to be awarded the 1st place winner of the Hive-Naija Weeked Engagement Contest
The contest had no specific rule set other than to engage in the post as much as possible. The major aim of the contest is to help create awareness amongst members of the Hive-Naija community. There, I was able to interact with a handful of Nigerians & make friends with the likes of @Khaleesii, @merit.ahama & others.
Well, I was awarded the winner of the contest yesterday; 3rd January 2022. That got me really excited because I never expected to win anything on my first entry. And what ya'll didn't know is it was actually my Birthday! Yeah I know. 😂
I had decided I wasn't going to make a Birthday post since I literally had no plans for the day. I tried drafting out a post but I couldn't as I seemed to be having mixed feelings about the day. But despite that, I chose to be positive,to be happy, to focus on what I had going for me & ignore the negatives, I was feeling content & grateful to have made it thus far & celebrated it the best way I could & that was to go on my knees & give all the thanks to God my creator.
Winning the contest really made me feel great and honestly, I consider joining Hive to be a great gift! This is because I believe it unlocks numerous possibilities for me this year.
From the opportunity to meet new people & make new friends, to learning alot of new things, to taking a step forward in my journey to seeking financial freedom.
I believe Hive has given me something to work hard towards & that is: the opportunity to make 2022 a great year.
The Hive blockchain is a really incredible space & honestly I'm still trying to wrap my head around alot of things which I find quite exciting. I'm sure with time I'll get it for sure.
Moving on, I look forward to participating in more contest like the DCC by @clixmoney. I believe this will help improve my engagement on the platform & give me the opportunity to know more people.
A thoughtful message to everyone reading this:
It's a matter of perspective!
One can say the glass is half filled, another person could say that the glass is half empty instead.
I could have thought: "there's nothing to celebrate, I'm just one year closer to my death" but instead I choose to think: I'm blessed to have another great year added to my life & I'm sure blessed to have found Hive atleast now & not 5 years later😁.
Happy birthday in arrears brother!... It is a contest well won and parts of the benefits of engaging in hive.
