Yesterday I was having small talk with some acquaintances and one of them mentioned someone having 'bad legs'. I was confused because I didn't notice this bad legs, then she pointed out the person had 'K-legs'. Growing up I heard a lot of people tell others they had K-legs and it was always so confusing to me, it was also meant as an insult sometimes. One time I asked what it meant and I was told it's when the legs are shaped like 'K'.
It's always so amusing to me how people spot 'errors' in others when it comes to physical appearance. I asked the girl I was talking to yesterday what makes K-legs bad legs. She said because they're not straight.
"Well who said straight legs are the standard?", I asked.
"It's just how it is", she said.
I don't blame her, she's just one of the majority that have been conditioned by society's beauty standards. I went ahead to tell her all shapes of legs are good legs, we all don't need to have model type legs because real life people are not dolls.
She said I was preaching so I don't know what she made of that. I'll always preach body positivity and would love my body however it is. I've been body shamed severely when I was much chubbier and I always found it ridiculous especially because I was a child. I got skinny and still faced body shaming, you're never free from society's standards.
You're always going to be too fat, too skinny, too tall, too short, flat chested, too big breasted, heck, your butt is gonna be too big. I heard someone refer to a lady's butt as rubbish, "it's too much". Ugh.
When you don't see normal body parts as flaws, you're on your way to loving yourself and also not being a terrible person picking on others.
Can we say no to body shaming today? 🙂
Yes, my legs aren't straight either. I love my body anyways😍
As it should be 😊
