I completed my 4th month out of 6 at my French school today and I wrote an examination I've been anticipating for a while now.
It was not a great experience, to say the least. Ive been preparing for this examination for only about 3 days and in those 3 days, I was able to do okay in the listening, writing and comprehension aspects. The speaking aspect has eluded me.
For a person taking French classes, my French-speaking skills are pretty weak. I have an understanding, I understand when I'm spoken to but speaking back has become so hard.
I write and comprehend written text well enough but speaking Is not the same. I don't know how to go about fixing this recurring problem as it's the same issue I've found myself having with other dialects.
I began learning the Hauss language and my dialect, Ijaw but I had the same problem. I lack the confidence to open up my lips to speak.
I'm on a break until Wednesday. I'll be working on getting a language exchange partner before then. I think at this point I'll be needing all the help I can get.
I had one a few months ago but I couldn't keep up with his timing.
I hope this solves my current problem soon enough. I'm pretty tired.
Getting a language partner will be very helpful and I feel with time it would get better, keep your head up
