Hello, hello friends nature lovers, it is a pleasure to greet you wishing you to have an excellent and blessed week together with your loved ones, as I have said before, nature, work of the Creator, never ceases to amaze us, during my last trip to Bolivar State, I had the opportunity to see again a tree that during my childhood was well known and sought after, because we used it to do school work that required glue or simply to play, it is the “caracaro” tree, this tree produces or secretes a substance that in my school days was used as glue, I really don't know if from the sap that this tree secretes is made some kind of glue, I can only say that in my childhood we used this glue to do school work, balls and the competition of who made the biggest ball; After many years without seeing this tree, it was very exciting to see it again and I was quickly struck by the amount of liquid that was in the root, this after hours hardens and forms a kind of layer and plug that prevents the flow of sap, nature is amazing and performs its protection process.
To obtain glue you must remove a shell in the root or trunk of the tree and progressively the sap comes out, after a certain time, this hardens and acts as a plug that protects the tree so it does not continue to leak liquid, in my childhood we used to keep the sap in containers but it ended up solidifying, the best thing was to take it directly from the tree and glue, We used to take it to the work place with a branch and quickly glue it, because of its color we had to be careful when using it, since in a small carelessness the leaf would stain, my son who was my traveling companion had never seen this type of tree and it was a nice experience for him, to know that with this tree his mother used to glue the works, figures among others, at school time; In conversation with a resident of the area he was explaining me that the tree is characterized by large, leafy branches and its root is thick, is widely used by young people to play, although not as before, he also explained that the tree has medicinal use, as their grandparents and ancestors used it to cure colds, flus and some diseases of the digestive system.
Hola, hola amigos amantes de la naturaleza, es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana en unión de sus seres queridos, como he dicho anteriormente, la naturaleza obra del Creador, nunca deja de sorprendernos, durante mi último viaje al Estado Bolívar, tuve la oportunidad de ver nuevamente un árbol que durante mi infancia era muy conocido y buscado, pues lo usábamos para hacer los trabajos de la escuela que requerían pegamento o sencillamente para jugar, se trata del árbol "caracaro" este produce o segrega una sustancia que en mis tiempos de estudio en la escuela era usado como pegamento, realmente desconozco si a partir de la savia que segrega este árbol se elabora algún tipo de pegamento, solo puedo decir que en mi infancia utilizábamos este pegamento para hacer los trabajos escolares, bolas y la competencia de quien hacía la bola más grande; después de muchos años sin ver este árbol, fue muy emocionante verlo nuevamente y me llamo rápidamente la atención la cantidad de líquido que tenía en la raíz, este al pasar las horas se endurece y forma una especie de capa y tapón que evita el fllujo de la savia, la naturaleza es increíble y realiza su proceso de protección.
Para obtener pegamento debes retirar una concha en la raíz o tronco del árbol y progresivamente va saliendo la savia, luego de un determinado tiempo, esta se endurece y actúa como tapón que protege al árbol para que no siga derramando líquido, en mi infancia solíamos guardar la savia en envases pero terminaba solidificándose, lo mejor era tomarla directamernte del árbol y pegar, con una rama la llevabámos al lugar de trabajo y rápidamente pegabámos, por su color debíamos tener ciudado al usarla, ya que, en un pequeño descuido se manchaba la hoja, mi hijo que fue mi compañero de viaje nunca había visto este tipo de árbol y fue una linda experiencia para él, conocer que con este árbol su mamá en época de la escuela pegaba los trabajos, figuras entre otros; en conversación con un residente de la zona me estuvo explicando que el árbol se caracteriza por tener ramas grandes, frondosas y sus raíz es gruesa, es muy usado por los jóvenes para jugar, aunque no como antes, también explicó que el árbol tiene uso medicinal, pues sus abuelos y antepasados lo usaban para curar gripes, resfriados y algunas enfermedades del sistema digestivo.

Guerero street, it really provides enough shade. Guerero, it really provides enough shade, we went at noon the sun was intense and under the tree we could enjoy the shade and freshness of the day, I think it is the first time I visit this square and I found it very interesting and exciting, because I could see again this tree, which brought back beautiful memories of my childhood, Among them the albums or collection of figurines, with which you won a prize when you filled the album or took out a winning figurine, with my sisters and friends we used this glue to paste the figurines in the album, what a beautiful time, I never imagined that on this trip I would see this tree and remember pleasant moments of my childhood.
If you have the opportunity to travel to Caicara del Orinoco, be sure to visit the square and its charming tree, which offers a beautiful roof of branches and cool breeze to its visitors, it may not be a well known and crowded place, but it will surely be a nice experience to see the tree, its leafy branches, plus the natural glue that secretes, you can also take a walk along the banks of the Orinoco River which is very close to the square and contemplate the beautiful scenery.
Siendo honesta, no sabía el nombre de este árbol, nosotros le llamábamos pega pega, pero según el señor el árbol se llama caracaro, al buscar en la web, ¡vaya sorpresa!, encontré el nombre científico (Enterolobium cyclocarpum), este árbol se encuentra ubicado en la plaza Eduvigis de Arismendi (Caicara del orinoco, estado Bolívar ), la plaza tiene forma de corazón y la idea de colocarle las barandas laterales es proteger el árbol y demarcar el espacio que ocupan sus raíces, en los últimos años según la información del señor, el árbol se ha ido expandiendo y su sombra llega a cubrir ambos extremos de la calle, la plaza se ubica en pleno centro de la calle Juncal y calle Cedeño, la plaza marca una Y en intersección con la calle F. Guerero, realmente brinda bastante sombra, fuimos a la hora del mediodía el sol estaba intenso y debajo del árbol pudimos disfrutar de la sombra y frescura del día, creo que es la primera vez que visito esta plaza y me pareció muy interesante y emocionante, pues pude ver nuevamente este árbol, que me trajo lindos recuerdos de mi infancia, entre ellos los álbumes o colección de figuritas, con los cuales ganabas un premio al llenar el álbum o sacar una figurita premiada, con mis hermanas y amigos usabámos esta pega para pegar las figuritas en el álbum, que hermosos tiempos, jamás imaginé que en este viaje iba a ver este árbol y recordar gratos momentos de mi niñez.
Si tienes la oportunidad de viajar a Caicara del Orinoco, no dejes de visitar la plaza y su encantador árbol, que ofrece un hermoso techo de ramas y brisa fresca a sus visitantes, tal vez no sea un lugar muy conocido y concurrido, pero seguro será una linda experiencia ver el árbol, sus frondosas ramas, además del pegamento natural que segrega, también puedes dar un paseo por la orilla del Río Orinoco que queda muy cerca de la plaza y contemplar el lindo paisaje.
