Sometimes, the best way to reconnect with family and unwind is by escaping to a peaceful and beautiful place. The Durano Eco Farm trip was a wonderful experience that gave us the opportunity to enjoy nature and spend some quality time together. We experienced the breath-taking scenery, scenic drives and enjoyable experiences. Memories stuck with us. Those special moments with my loved ones are so memorable and have left me feeling happy, especially as I look back on them with fondness.
Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of our blog. In today’s post, I want to share with you a great place you must visit with your family. I know this is a throwback, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
In 2017, we usually had a family getaway every summer vacation. This time, we went to Durano Eco Farm. A brief description of Durano Eco Farm: it is located in Brgy. Corte, Carmen, Northern Cebu, approximately 2 hours away from Cebu City. If you’re a plantito or plantita, I’m sure you’ll love this place. It is a stunningly beautiful and peaceful location, nestled in the heart of nature. With its pristine greenery and rolling hills, the farm offers a serene retreat from the stresses of everyday life.
The entrance fee at Durano Eco Farm is 100 PHP for adults and 50 PHP for kids. They also offer overnight stays; however, I’m not sure if they’re currently available. When I inquired at the place, I was told they were undergoing some renovations, which is why they’re offering whole-day and half-day stays, as well as tables and chairs for tourists.
Once you enter the place, you’ll see a very organized environment, with plenty of green plants and fresh air. You’ll also be captivated by the cold, fresh water, or what we call “tubig tubod,” which means the water in the pools comes from natural springs.
Aside from the fresh water pools, you'll also see captivating rock formations and running water coming from the springs. I remember when we visited, we had the chance to experience canyoning as we explored the rocks and fast-running water. We really enjoyed it. However, this year, I’m not sure if they still allow guests to do canyoning, as they’ve temporarily closed it due to the strong water currents, which might pose a safety risk.
This is my family enjoying our trip. This isn’t the first time we’ve been here; in fact, it’s our third time because we really enjoy the place and how budget-friendly it is. My family decided to stay near the pools so they could look after our little cousins who were swimming. We also brought food to enjoy together, and we shared great conversations to make the most of this trip.
This place is also safer for toddlers because they have a small pool provided just for them, so they won’t risk drowning. As you can see in the picture, not only adults can enjoy this trip, but also toddlers and young children can have fun too. The flooring isn’t as slippery as other pools, since this pool area is made of limestone rocks, which provide enough friction to prevent slipping. However, we still need to be extra careful since there is still water present.
This is how my family enjoyed the fresh water pools at Durano Eco Farm. We were happy this time because it wasn’t as crowded as usual. We cherished every moment spent with my family. Also, every area of the place is very Instagrammable and worth remembering. With its very affordable entrance fee and reasonably priced tables and chairs, you wouldn’t expect such stunning views and the cleanliness of the place. They truly preserve nature in their own way.
To avoid any accidents from swimming in the deeper parts of the pools, there is a rocky bridge that divides the different depths of the water. For me, this is a very cool creation because it adds a unique abstract design to the place, and it fits in perfectly. Therefore, tourists visiting the area will surely admire the cleanliness and peacefulness of the place.
This is what the place looks like. It’s so quiet and peaceful. You can really reflect and find peace after a stressful week or days of work. You can hear birds chirping and the running water from the pool, with the sound of the current splashing against the larger stones. This place is truly highly recommended for everyone, and I’m sure you’ll appreciate it just as much as I did.
Right now, it’s been 7 years since we last visited. I think they’ve renovated the place and made it more comfortable for everyone. I’m sure they’ve also preserved some of the attractions, so tourists who visit will want to come back anytime.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and connect with my thoughts today.
