How to grow Dionea muscipula

ENG

Good morning everyone, in this post of mine today I would like to share with you how to grow the most famous carnivorous plant in the world, a plant that amazed Darwin during his explorations and that won me over with its charm since I was a child ... The Dionea!

The Dionea needs a lot of direct sunlight, at least 4-6 hours a day. Do not grow it indoors, but grow it outside all year round, keep it in the shade in summer and in the sun in winter.

Use only distilled, rain or demineralized water. Tap water contains minerals that can kill it. It must always remain moist, so the best method is to place the pot in a saucer with about 3 cm of water and leave it always available.

In summer, it tolerates temperatures up to 35 ° C, but keep it protected from direct sunlight, remember that in nature it usually lives among tall grass, this allows it to receive diffused light and always have a humid environment around it.
In winter, below 5°C, it stops producing leaves, those present dry up and goes into vegetative rest, don't worry! It will wake up in spring!

Use a mix of acid peat and perlite, without fertilizers or fertilizers. The dionea grows in environments poor in nutrients and takes the nitrogen it needs from insects. It does not need to be fed frequently. If it lives outdoors, it catches insects by itself.

Did you know the Dionea? I have been growing it for several years and I would like to share with you what I have learned in these years of cultivation with a post a week here on Hive!

Usa solo acqua distillata, piovana o demineralizzata.
