Good morning everyone, in this post of mine today I would like to share with you my experience of different cultivars of dionea, the most famous carnivorous plant in the world, which amazed Darwin during his explorations and which won me over with its charm since I was a child ... The Dionea!
Dionaea muscipula is the only species of the genus Dionaea, but over time many cultivars with different characteristics have been selected. These varieties are distinguished by the shape and color of the traps, the teeth, the size and the closing speed.
"Alien" – Elongated and curved traps, with teeth that resemble tentacles (plant in the photo).
"Typical" – It is the standard form found in nature, with green traps and a red interior.
"Fused Tooth" – The cilia of the traps are partially fused together.
"Sawtooth" – Short and pointed serrated teeth.
"DC XL" – Among the largest in existence, with traps that exceed 5 cm.
Red Dragon – Completely red plant, including leaves and traps (plant in the photo of this post)
All Dionaea require distilled or rain water and acidic peat without fertilizers.
They need a lot of sun to color well and grow vigorously.
During the winter they enter dormancy, losing leaves and slowing growth.

Buongiorno a tutti, in questo mio post di oggi vorrei condividere con voi la mia esperienza di diversi cultivar di dionea, la pianta carnivora più famosa al mondo, che fece stupire Darwin durante le sue esplorazioni e che mi conquistò con il suo fascino fin da bambino ... La Dionea !
La Dionaea muscipula, è l'unica specie del genere Dionaea, ma nel tempo sono state selezionate molte cultivar con caratteristiche differenti. Queste varietà si distinguono per la forma e il colore delle trappole, la dentatura, le dimensioni e la velocità di chiusura.
"Alien" – Trappole allungate e ricurve, con denti che ricordano tentacoli (pianta nella foto qui in alto).
"Typical" – È la forma standard che si trova in natura, con trappole verdi e interno rosso.
"Fused Tooth" – Le ciglia delle trappole sono parzialmente fuse tra loro.
"Sawtooth" – Denti seghettati corti e appuntiti.
"DC XL" – Tra le più grandi esistenti, con trappole che superano i 5 cm.
Red Dragon – Pianta completamente rossa, incluse foglie e trappole (pianta nella foto in fondo questo post)
Tutte le Dionaea richiedono acqua distillata o piovana e torba acida senza fertilizzanti.
Hanno bisogno di molto sole per colorarsi bene e crescere vigorosamente.
Durante l’inverno entrano in dormienza, perdendo foglie e rallentando la crescita.
