Happy full moon today, the tide is high, and lately more debris has been washing up on my usually pristine coastline here on the southernmost shores of Africa. Is it because the northern ocean route for cargo ships has been obstructed?
As a result many more tankers are sailing the longer route around South Africa.... and dropping their litter on the sea in the way. I could be wrong, it's just a guess.
Plenty of Chinese or Asian single use plastic water bottles wash up after a big tidal surge or stormy seas this past month. You might be surprised by the photos of my finds lately.
I'm documenting it here as a record for posterity. The beautiful natural surroundings here are a tourist haven, known to only a few. And it's usually clean. However, the world's litter is finding these shores.
It's not much litter compared to Thailand and South America, but it's growing. Fortunately the beauty of the shoreline outshines the little bit of litter.
Even glass bottles are washing up today, which is very scarce.
Fortunately summer approaches and the climate is just awesome for outdoor adventure in this eco paradise.
I'm feeling blessed to be in one of the most beautiful places in the world, called the Garden Route 550km east of Cape Town.

Thank you it would be great here on Hive, but I just got a 2 Hive downvote from the biggest whale - @Smooth. Maybe he's at war with the other devs lol. It is a bit of a damper on posting.
Great post! When I want to help fight pollution, I bring a metal detector and clean everything. There is a lot of buried metal that takes hundreds of years to disintegrate.
Many thanks friend. That's a good strategy, you might find some interesting artifacts.

Good evening dear friend @julianhorack
What a beautiful place you have visited, a place to enjoy the tranquility of the beach, it is a shame that garbage from other parts of the world is being brought to its shores

Hey there thank you for your kind response friend. Yes this coast is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I'll aim to keep it clean for any other visitors who also need to take shelter of this sanctuary.
