To me it is absolutely crazy how the temperatures here in the Netherlands are swapping from left to right. Don't get me wrong, I love a cold winter day (only when it is either snowing or when the skies are blue admittingly...fair enough!). But I enjoy it a lot more when outdoors is just starting to scream your name.

Literally two nights ago it was minus 6 degrees celsius here and everything was packed away. As I am writing this it is now 17 degrees celsiu outside and I just came in from fumbling in the garden all morning. Because that it what you do right? When the first chance is there, you head outside as fast as you can!

One thing I was really surprised to see already was the presence of these crocussen. Now in my mind I back when I was a kid I used to see these when there was still snow on the ground so they are good end of winter kinds of flowers.

But I never really know when their growing time actually is. It always feels like 'all of a sudden' they are there. And that time is now!

Everywhere you look

The funny thing about these crocusses is that they are in the same locations every year. They flourish for about a week and after that you never know they were there and they entirely disappear again.

But when when they are there, you can recognize them on their purple or yellow or white colour.

The same thing goes for the narcissus (not to mix up with narcissists, those are something else 😀). They are also always hiding in the same location and 'all of a sudden' they are popping up but they flourish a bit later than the crocusses.

But it really feels like nature is starting to wake up from its hibernation phase again and I like it. I was just really ready to get out of bed, step up and do a lot of stuff around the house again outdoors as finally it feels like there is a possibility for it again.

Honestly, I guess I will be totally bummed again if it starts to freeze again next week. Today feels like it is the exit of winter and even though it was a cold but not too bad kind of one, I just thrive a lot better in sunny summer conditions.

Nature is better, the weather is better and my mood is better. Let's keep it that way!
