The beautiful mushroom Trametes hirsuta growing on a rotten jackfruit trees

yesterday morning while waiting for mother to prepare breakfast for us, when the air enveloped the surrounding area and I decided to take a walk in the backyard of the house, yeah this is a habit that I have been doing for a long time, and coincidentally behind my house there is a large jackfruit tree , usually I often pick ripe fruit to make kolak (an Indonesian culinary dish), so I had the idea to go to the jackfruit tree, who knows, there might be a surprise of fresh, ripe jackfruit, it would be a pleasant surprise.

when I got there I noticed that several of the branches of my jackfruit tree had dried up (died) I don't know the exact cause, but it made me sad considering that this jackfruit tree is very productive, among the dry branches there was something that stood out and attracted my attention. came closer, and sure enough the dry branch was growing with a group of beautiful mushrooms and is quite rare where I live.

At first I thought this was the Lingzhi mushroom, one of the commonly found mushrooms, do you also think the same?

but did you know that this is not a Lingzhi mushroom, it is true that at first glance the mushroom looks similar to the Lingzhi mushroom, but if you look in more detail it is completely different.

now let's go to find out what kind of fungus I just found growing on a dead jackfruit tree branch 🤗

This is the Trametes hirsuta fungus which is a species of fungus belonging to the Polyporaceae family. This fungus is known for its ability to grow on dead and rotting wood.

as you have seen in the photo, this mushroom has a very distinctive shape and color varies from white to yellowish as well as a soft hairy texture on the surface of the mushroom, and this is the main characteristic that differentiates the trametes hirsuta mushroom from various other types of wood mushrooms such as Lingzhi mushrooms for example.

one of the trametes hirsuta mushrooms has turned blackish brown, and it looks like this mushroom will die soon

The color variations of the trametes hirsuta mushroom are very beautiful and tempting

the bottom of the hirsuta trametes looks very beautiful

Well, these are traces of mushroom-eating insects

the bottom of the mushroom already looks orange, I don't know the cause

A pair of insects were eating the bottom of the trametes hirsuta mushroom, there were a lot of traces left behind and half of the mushrooms already looked damaged due to the traces of the insect bites.
