Hunting for mangrove crabs // Night is the best time to hunt for crabs. (About natural products and harmonious togetherness)

in Amazing nature (AN)26 days ago

Good afternoon to all my beloved hive friends ♥️

In this very special post, I will share some pictures and my excitement with my friends while hunting for mangrove crabs last night, and at that time we managed to get quite a lot of crabs, so we took the crabs to an Aceh noodle stall to be cooked with noodles, "it's not about the price but about togetherness", keep reading this post until the end and enjoy ♥️

Before hunting mangrove crabs, we had confirmed first with one of my friends who was in the village where we were hunting mangrove crabs, because to hunt mangrove crabs we had to do it at night because that was when the crabs would come out of their nests to look for food, but not only that because to find crabs we had to wait for the river water to rise so that the crabs could be clearly seen on the riverbank. and the river where we hunted crabs was also a river that was close to the sea or could be called a river estuary.

In this hunt, I did it with 5 of my friends, and our hunting place was in Jeunib sub-district, Bireuen district, because I often heard from my friends that there were lots of crabs in the river, and the distance from my house to the place was approximately 45 minutes by motorbike, so we had to really prepare the equipment and supplies to do this hunt.

Some of the equipment that must be brought are fishing nets to make it easier to catch crabs, flashlights, containers for storing crabs, and other supplies such as snacks and drinks, because when we do higher killings we must be mentally and physically prepared to go down the river.

We had prepared all the supplies from home so that we didn't need to stop during the trip, so we only needed to focus on this trip to quickly reach our destination, about 40 minutes we finally arrived without any obstacles, and because the atmosphere was very dark so we couldn't take some pictures when we first got there, the location of the river is indeed very close to the sea so it is called a river estuary and around the river there are many fish ponds owned by the residents there.

And when we arrived at the place, we only rested for a while to relieve our tiredness from the journey, but it didn't last long because after our tiredness was gone, we immediately went down to the river to hunt for mangrove crabs.

Here I don't play any role lol, because I don't understand the procedure for catching crabs and how to follow the current of the river estuary, so I just followed my friend and rather than doing nothing I decided to collect the crabs that had been caught, There are so many new experiences and lessons that I can get in hunting tonight because besides understanding the procedure for catching crabs I can also understand how to follow the current of the river at the estuary.

How can you see crabs in the river? Yes, that is a good question, the answer is when the river water starts to rise, crabs will be seen in abundance on the banks of the river, here is an example of the picture.

We just need to walk along the river mouth and look around very carefully so that we don't miss the crabs on the riverbank. From the picture above, we can conclude that it is a picture that is very easy to understand for friends who do not yet understand how to hunt crabs at night.

And when the crabs start to appear, the next step is to catch them using a net, because it will be very risky if we catch crabs using bare hands, because the crab's grip is very dangerous, especially for medium-sized crabs, it will be difficult to release the bite.

After the crab is successfully caught, the next step is to tie the crab's two claws, so that when we put it in the container, the crab cannot bite again.

That is the correct tutorial when we are hunting crabs and the riskiest thing is when we tie the two crab claws because if we make the slightest mistake then there is a very big risk that we will be bitten by the crab.

I didn't understand how to tie a crab so I didn't want to do it, but I kept learning and learning to understand how to do it properly. "True men are those who are willing to do all the challenges in life."

The water is not deep if we walk on the edge of the river, but the main obstacle is the mud, where we have to walk very carefully on the very slippery mud, so that I had to take off my sandals and walk with just my two feet.

And when we had been walking along the river for about 30 minutes, suddenly one of my friends found a very unique and scary sea animal.

However, instead of being curious, my friend caught the sea animal, so that we could see it from a closer distance, of course in more detail.

This sea animal has a long and very soft body like a worm, but has a thin body and has a very unique swimming style, but what is attractive is its pink color, my friends and I do not know the name of the sea animal, so for all my hive friends who know about the sea animal, you can immediately tell your opinion in the comments column below. 👇

In this hunt, we also split up, three people downstream and three people upstream, so that we can get more crabs in the river, this is more effective than everyone going in one direction.

To be able to see them, we have to use both of our eyes well, because many crabs hide under the trees in the river, for example under mangrove trees or in the grass that grows in the river. Although this looks normal, to do this also requires skill and experience.

And of the 6 people who took part in this hunt, there was only one of my friends who was very skilled at hunting crabs, and his name was Pon Klep.

His courage and skill in catching crabs made us get very satisfying results, and after walking for about 1 hour along the river we decided to go straight back to the first point, and because our catch was already quite a lot.

And once I arrived at the first point, I immediately collected all the crabs in one container, and this is roughly what our catch looked like.

And with some of the catches we felt very satisfied and very happy, we rested in a hut that was available there to recover from the tiredness after exploring the river, but at that time it was very late at night so we couldn't stay there for long and had to immediately look for an Acehnese noodle stall that was still open.

Luckily, when we went out onto the highway, we found an Acehnese noodle stall that was still open. Seeing this opportunity, we immediately approached the stall and asked the owner to make delicious crab noodles.

However, before the crab is cooked, the crab must be cleaned first because it is still very dirty, and the person who cleans the crab is the owner of the Aceh noodle stall.

And after all the crabs have been cleaned, the crabs are then cooked directly with the noodles, and after waiting a few minutes, the crab noodles are finally ready to be served.

This is really delicious, the combination of noodles and crab is a perfect combination, crab itself can add a sweet taste to the noodle soup, especially noodles with added crab, maybe for all of you who have never tried it, I highly recommend trying it immediately, and I'm sure you can get addicted again.

However, many people speculate that why bother looking for crabs in the river, because crabs are widely sold in markets, but in this post I want to explain something to all my friends,This is not about the price but it is about a truly extraordinary togetherness.

So those are some pictures that show my excitement in hunting for crabs at the river mouth with my friends, and with the story that I have presented in this post, I really hope that this post can provide entertainment for all of my friends.
