If you love camping, Mt. Kan-irag should be on your list. This is one of the most popular campsites in Cebu City, offering both convenience and accessibility. Whether you’re up for a challenging day hike or want to spend the night under the stars with a view of the city lights, Mt. Kan-irag has something for you.
How to Get There
There are two main routes to reach Mt. Kan-irag, depending on the kind of adventure you're looking for.
Budlaan Trail (For Adventure Seekers)
If you prefer a longer trail with river trekking, waterfalls, and boulder climbs, the Budlaan Trail is the best option.
• Take a jeepney to Talamban and get off at Gaisano Grand Mall.
• Look for habal-habal (motorcycle) drivers near Sunny Hills Subdivision.
• Tell the driver you’re headed to Sitio Baugo in Budlaan, Cebu, and they will take you to the trailhead.
The trail is about 8 km long with an elevation gain of 692 meters.
Fare: Habal-habal – ₱70 per person
Ayala Heights Backdoor Trail (For a Chill Camp Experience)
This route is ideal if you prefer an easy trek, especially if you’re carrying a lot of camping gear.
• From JY Square, take a habal-habal to the drop-off point at Ayala Heights.
• From there, it’s a short 1.5 km hike to the campsite.
Fare: Habal-habal – ₱200 per person
Updated Camping Fees 2025
There has been some minor changes in Mt. Kan-irag, Here is the updated camping fee as of January 2025.
• Camping Fee: ₱100 per person
• Day Hike Fee: ₱50 per person
They also have cottages (kubo) for rent but I don't have the details regarding the pricelist.
The mobile signal at the campsite is weak, but a piso WiFi is available for those who need to connect. Restrooms are accessible for campers, ensuring convenience during your stay. A sari-sari store on-site sells camping essentials and even prepares food upon request, with the ever-popular Lucky Me Pancit Canton as a go-to meal. The campsite is spacious and can accommodate multiple groups, making it ideal for both solo campers and larger gatherings. Nights tend to be cold, so bringing thick clothing, blankets, or a sleeping bag is highly recommended for comfort.
