I am delighted to bring back happy memories for you. We communicate with our children in ways both symbolic and real. Many years ago, I would drop my son off at nursery school and my daughter would be in the car. I had to run a chore from time to time at the local mall. They had an ice cream counter. Every time we'd stop there, have an ice cream and a chat. She remembers those chats (and iced creams!) vividly though she couldn't have been more than four years old.
