RE: The Mural - A Cultural History in Street Art | LMAC Collage FreeStyle No. 102

The collage is very spirited and fitting tribute to street art. Many communities do not welcome this spontaneous art form. It's good to hear your community welcomes it.

Happy summer, @justclickindiva. Look forward to seeing your vacation freestyles throughout the vacation.

Hello. Thanks so much for your visit and lovely compliment for my collage theme. Just as I was writing a reply the other day, my power went down again from the aftermath of the hurricane. We've had a week here dealing with it.

Yes, it's a win-win situation because now our electrical boxes on the street corners are filled with wonderful drawings. My favorite is the Buffalo Soldiers in my area. Depiction is awesome. I have a figurine from the All God's Children that looks exactly like the drawing. My other favorite are actors such as John Wayne.

Take care and have a good summer break.

New York is known for its street art, I think. We had an actual institution at one time, 5 Pointz, that was an acknowledged treasure. One day the owner of the property had it whitewashed. He tore down the property and put a residential complex up. Years later he was order to pay over 6 million dollars in restitution to the artists whose work he had destroyed. Here's a video of 5 Pointz.

Interesting. I'll take time to read. Thanks for sharing this information.
