I have to admit that I have no idea how Curation-Trails work and what exactly it is. However, I would like to support the LMAC community.
Do I have to join via Hive-Vote therefor, or is it enough to just delegate some HP to the LMAC account?

As for joining our curation trail vs delegating to the @lmac account, both of it is a great way to support us but it's very different things and a question of what your preference would be.
If you delegate you are 100% in control, everything happens right out of your wallet. However, you won't earn any curation rewards on your delegation, those will accumulate only on the @lmac account. This may become different in the future in case that we role out a delegation initiative, were certain benefits may be provided to the delegators, but we are not there yet.
In contrast, if you join the curation trail via hive.vote curation rewards will accumulate on your account the same way as if you would vote yourself. You'll even get a decent boost on your curation rewards, since the trail is followed by a 200k HP vote with a 5 min delay. However, from a technical perspective a third party service (hive.vote) is involved which you need to grant your posting authority. In this respect you need to do your own due diligence whether or not this is of any concern. You will find lots of folks in the DACH Discord who are using hive.vote and can share their take on it with you.

It's not all about earning. So I'll have to think a moment about how much of my humble HP I could squeeze out for delegating to LMAC. :-)
