I'm getting paid for that?

in Project HOPE5 years ago

I blog daily, and I have been consistent for like 5 months now. This means that every day I have at least one post paying out from the previous week, and you know, no matter how often the payout comes, it still feels surreal.

Virtually every blogger around here probably has this story;

  • Blogged on Google or WordPress,
  • Didn't earn shit,
  • Gave up on their blog and moved to Steem/Hive.

When I got into blogging, I wanted to partake in an activity that would nourish my soul, satisfy my hunger to express myself with words strung together, and of course, earn something from it. I got a little bit of the first two, but not quite like how it has been since I got into blockchain blogging.

You see, getting into this line of business has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities outside simply writing a bunch of words. It has taught me trading, words like HODL, and helped me meet some interesting people.

In my nearly three years of creating content around here, I have earned a reasonable amount of money from the things I put out, for better or for worst. I mean, some days are good and others, not so good but I can't complain because I wonder how much I would have earned from my Blogspot blog.

The whole point of this post is to encourage bloggers on and outside this platform to continue posting content regularly. Just keep doing you and try to make the best out of your situation, hopefully, more bloggers and content creators will find their way over here, and increase our internet presence.

This post resonates so much with what I was talking with a friend today, about my blog. I don't have any previous experience, prior to Steem, and I can say that the shitty way that I blog I learned from here. Same as you, sometimes the payout is a bit bigger, sometimes quite small but, overall it's something. It's a stream of income, a nice way to spend my time and to feed my writing hunger, that no social media I have ever been part of, managed to do and really happy about my blog. I'm two years and three months on this platform and although I still have that there is room for more, more posts, virtual friends, fatty payouts and engagement, I am happy with what I have and grateful for have found it. It's really an eye opening social media platform, and for the moment the best that I am aware of. Keep up with your posts and Hive on!

Thanks brother, much appreciated and more grease to your elbow.

Thank you for this motivational blog post. Voted and shared with some newcomers! 😉

Most times I feel like giving up, but no no, I feel more encouraged

👌🏽 As much as I thought of staying away from steem back then and quit, the more I find many more reasons to come back.

Hive is gonna remain my ride or die. Never felt a reason to quit tho.

Keep up the good work bro

Thanks Man

You're right my friend, we have to find the right motivation to write every day. I mirror myself in your words, in fact I often gave up steemit then I started again, even now I have lost some inspiration and this time both on steemit and on hive 😬 but at least I try to comment on the posts that I like, as yours that manages to give me a positive charge.👍😉

Nice!!!!

Thanks mama 😁

Oh yesss! That’s what I am hahh

Hahaha. You're awesome 😁

This is what it is .. i came back cos i discovered that when i write here i earn something atleast. I do other shit and dont get paid any dime for it . Hive is such a nice place and i think if you dont think of the monetary aspect but focus on other things like learning how to write , learning how to be consistent, learning how to socialize . You will probaly feel more fulfilled. What a motivational post

i can't understand the feeling because I have gone through this phase. sharing original work regularly and engaging with others will definitely give success one day. Cool post !!!

Thanks Yali. Seems like all of us have gone through the phase

Absolutely agree.... one gets to express oneself, play with a camera... share music and viewpoints... and sometimes even get paid!! Brilliant stuff.
Why people bother with Fakebook I have no idea.

Honestly can't understand why anybody will use Facebook. Maybe they just enjoy the interactions.

well at least , you are not a shit post blogger .
any webcommunities should take that in consideration

Haha. Thank God for that. or maybe my shitposts are just adorned with fancy english

for too many people it is adorned with fancy english, and flying pigs ..yes
thank God we have you :D

I will forgive anyone that offers magical bacon

It was strange to earn tokens for blogging, and even stranger to be able to exchange them directly, or indirectly via Bitcoin, to get stuff.

I know right? It feels good but still feels so surreal
