The leader does not have enough time for the strategic development of the company. For almost the entire working day, he is engaged in solving current problems and operating systems. And no matter how hard he tries, he cannot get out of this circle.
Often, the manager believes that this state of affairs is due to the presence of low-skilled specialists around him. He tries to delegate some of his powers, but the employees do not cope with them. And the leader has to control every step of his subordinates and then correct the mistakes they made. All this leads to stagnation of the company and to the fact that the leader as a manager degrades.
How it happened and the end result
You tried to get the management to notice your work. Because of this, you closed all decisions on yourself: instead of the heads of the sections, you made schedules of production work, instead of the heads of the department, you distributed work among the employees, and demanded that every change be coordinated with you. As a result, you had endless calls from subordinates; your planning horizon will be reduced to a maximum of two or three days.
At the same time, all the department heads subordinate to you ceased to show initiative. Because of this, the activities of the areas you supervised suffered, and your leader will draw attention to this.
Taking a good look at things, you'll realize that you were trying to control everyone - right down to the last grade messenger, which is wrong.
What you should do
Then you'll have to make a list of tasks that can and should be delegated, as well as those that should only be done by you.
Next, you prepare an order in which you empowered the heads of departments and chief specialists in decision-making. In the same document, you prescribed their responsibility for making decisions.
For example
The head of the department is responsible for the even distribution of tasks between specialists according to their qualifications. And he also controls the execution of tasks by them on time. If the tasks are not completed by the required date, the head of the department performs them himself within three days.
As a result, the efficiency of work will increase, the specialists will become more responsible. And you'll have time to carry out your immediate tasks.
An important point: you need to delegate not only authority but also responsibility for failure to perform tasks.
