He later approached the turkey farms in Dhaka, Naogaon and Sylhet. He got some experience from there and bought a turkey from Sylhet on July 27 and started the farm.
Every two-year-old bought a turkey for Rs 2,000. Among the turkeys, there were 3 hens and 3 hens. At the age of 6 to 6 months, the turkey begins to lay eggs. Although he is expected to lay eggs again after giving 8 to 20 eggs as a native chicken, he has been getting 8 to 8 eggs daily since the last sacrificial Eid.
Sourav said that no equal number of male turkeys are needed for the five female turkeys. Male turkeys are often involved in fights when they are more in number. So the two men left the turkey and sold the rest. Each turkey is sold for 1 to 3 thousand rupees. The disease, like that of the common chicken, did not produce any major disease after the turkey farm.
He claims that Turkey's immune system is very strong. At 6 months a male turkey has a weight of 3 to 5 kg and a female turkey has a weight of 5 to 5 kg Despite the sale of several children, the number of turkeys on his farm is currently 5. There are 3 children in it. Also, many natives have arranged to hatch turkey eggs through chicken. A pair of one-month-olds sold for Tk 2,000 and each egg sold for Tk 200.
He said the eggs produced on his farm have already been bought from Dhaka, Barisal, Mymensingh, Habiganj and Gopalganj besides their own area. While the farm started costing Tk 5,000, he made money by selling turkey chicken and eggs. He was the first to run a farm called 'Rangpur Turkey Farm'. Sourav said that the reputation of turkey meat is around the world. Therefore, turkey farming is very profitable as production costs are relatively low. Meat is the main food of turkey. Apart from this, turkey meal is a leaf copy, wasteful and grainy meal. So anyone can easily benefit from keeping a turkey.
For example, he mentions that a male turkey weighs 6 to 6 kg in 6 months. If a taka weighs 100 kg, then the value of a turkey weighing 5 kg is worth Rs. The cost for this will not be more than Rs. On the other hand, at the time of cattle harvesting for 6 months, it will only cost but not much profit. At present, he has decided to farm 100 eggs turkeys. In order to produce 100 children in one batch, incubator machines have been started.
However, he alleged that a cheating cycle was coming from India with a turkey baby. Buying children for less money is easily attracting buyers. But the quality of these things is very bad. In most cases, children are dying. But since there is no way to easily identify the inferior baby, he recommends collecting the baby from a trusted institution.
