In a professional setting you need people to respect you and you do not want that respect just because you are a boss, it is something you command because the people who are around you respect the way you present yourself.
Fulfil your promises.
When you promise your staff or your investors to work on something be sure to fulfil that promise at the appropriate time, keeping up to the promises you have made will make you respected and honoured the more and the instance you realize that you will not be able to keep up with the promise any longer, you just need to address it in an appropriate manner this will increase the level of respect that your workers and colleagues have for you.
Respect other people’s time.
Some bosses always feel that being a boss provides them with the right to delay others when they call for a meeting, if you demand that your own time should be respected it is only fair that you learn to respect other people’s time also. Make it a habit to know that other people’s time are as valuable as yours and you need to keep up with that.
Do not speak badly about others.
As a boss you should be able to call your staff when there is an issue and address it immediately, do not be a boss who bad mouths other people. When there is a problem to be addressed, make sure that you address it instantly and resolve the conflict on ground as fast as you can.
You do not have to be too nice.
You cannot make everyone happy, as a boss you have to be good but make sure that your being good is not taken for granted, it is a must that you make your decisions clear enough for everyone to understand. Remain steadfast on what you want and how you want it to happen, be a nice boss but also be a firm one.
As a good boss, some employees may want to take that privilege for granted and it is only right that for you to clarify terms, nag at them when you need to making them understand their duty the more and focus on the growth of your company even if it means you losing a staff or two.

I really like the point raised about respect. You really need to respect people around you no matter how low their position might be. Thanks for this
Hello friend, the truth is that being a good boss is not so easy, I think the ideal would be to be a good leader, there are big differences, the main thing is to think of employees as well as we think of ourselves, sometimes putting ourselves in the place of someone else helps us to see things differently. Greetings and thanks for your advice.
