I agree with you, the fact that children become independent should be a joy for their parents, consider it a triumph achieved and support them in everything.
I am a mother and a grandmother; happily happy in both senses; I felt very nostalgic when my only daughter left the country and then when we met again she was already totally independent, something that fills me with great satisfaction as a mother.
