Happy Monday to all of us who make up this community.
Today I want to talk to you about a topic that I have been working on personally, and that is: not asking anyone for permission to make a decision.
Many times we fall into the error of commenting on our plans to several people who are mostly trustworthy, in a way waiting for their approval, advice, an idea that is added to yours, support, in short, hoping that approve what you have in mind, I used, a few years ago, to call many people to tell them about my idea or project requesting their approval, if they did not like it, they did not do it.
An example of them was my chef degree, I was in doubt whether to study gastronomy or do a master's degree in something related to my engineering career, I discussed it with several friends and family, most of them told me what I was going to do it for. If I already knew how to cook or that it was not necessary for me to study more, just a friend, not so much a friend at that time, made me understand many things, he was the one who made me reflect on what decision to make; The point is that we should not give authority to a person to decide what to do, say or undertake, someone once told me "people will want to see you well, but not better than them" I found that phrase cruel, it pigeonholes all people, but time and circumstances taught me that the responses of these people were not objective, they will tell you no because they think or believe that you cannot or that they could not.
Although it is not good to go around asking permission every time to do something or decide something, if it is considerable to ask for advice, in life it is good to have mentors, people with experience and results who can give you an objective opinion, instructions, ideas, complements that contribute , add and do not subtract.
We do not need approval from anyone but ourselves, and the advice of someone with results.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
Until another post.
One must make their own decisions, and keep in mind that the feedback received is very important, because it will help us as people and to be able to improve and further develop our project.
We must also take into account the factor of jealousy or envy because one advanced more than the others, there are many situations that make one not comment on their projects or ideas just to avoid the toxicity of those people who really want nothing good for you.
However, I believe that everything has a balance and we must be rational about it, and be clear about our goals without having to ask anyone for permission to achieve them.
I agree with you, friend, there are many factors that can hold an opinion, the healthiest thing is to work in silence and only turn to a mentor or person that one chooses as someone to follow.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it very much. good day!

Hi friend, excellent advice, I was like that too, sometimes I still do, but I ask my partner for advice, I think sometimes we feel insecure or lack of self-confidence, that phrase is very true, obviously not all our acquaintances fall into that combo but if the vast majority, many want to see you below, envy is very difficult to eradicate. Greetings!

I believe seeking people's perspectives rather than their opinions. You shouldn't seek people's authority or approval before you do things because in reality no one wants to see you do better than them. Use their opinions and perspectives to determine which route would be best to take. Nice piece
