The media is presenting us with the idea that true financial independence is attached to becoming an entrepreneur and they also say that the only people who have true value for their time are entrepreneurs so after listening to motivational speakers talk, a lot of people quit their jobs and then begin the journey only to realize that the media only told them the sweet and interesting side of the story and did not allow them get a glance into what reality looks like.
Start-up entrepreneurs usually work over time for a little amount of money.
The quote above is not what we find all over media but it is the reality of what happens and what entrepreneurs need to go through every day and starting your own business is a lot more tasking and comes with a lot of extra responsibilities.
Responsibilities of an Entrepreneur.
Just before you decide to quit your daily job, hold on a bit and let me quickly tell you the plenty responsibilities you may have to take up as you enter into the entrepreneurial world.
You will become the CFO handling expenses and budgeting aspect of the company, unlike your former business place where you had an accountant for this business of yours you are the one in charge of every financial operations.
You will also become the one who is in charge of hiring, firing and giving letters to warn any faulty staff, you are also the one in charge of allocating extra benefits, giving extra bonuses and whenever staff members feel that they deserve an increase in the salary that they earn, every complaints needs to be handled by you and you will be the one to make the conclusion on what each staff deserves.
Delegating tasks efficiently amongst those that you employ is also one very important characteristics of employees, delegating tasks however does not mean that you have nothing on your plate to do because the entire responsibility of supervision lies heavily on your shoulder as the entrepreneur.
You are aware that big companies have an entire team that handles the marketing section but as a growing entrepreneur the responsibility of -getting people to believe in your business idea lies heavily on your shoulders, no one will do the job of getting people to understand your business idea for you so that is an added burden that you need to deal with.
You also need to develop the attitude of becoming a good sales person, the task of being able to relate well with every of your customer is an attitude you need to develop if you want to close deals and become an efficient entrepreneur.
I really just want to remind you about this fact about entrepreneurship before you quit your daily job and jump into it.
As an entrepreneur, the success of your business lies on your shoulders and on the decisions you make. The bulk of the responsibility is on you. Though it is not easy but with the right work and actions, success of the business will be attained.
