The Psychology behind Book Reading.

in Project HOPE4 years ago

I can be really lazy with books I am certainly not going to deny that especially when it come to school books, I was really bad at it. As a child my Dad will always compare me with my kid sister who loved to read books, he will call me names for having a bad reading habit and praise my Kid sister this made my kid sister his favourite and I was the bad child, I was really jealous of my Kid sister and I badly wanted to become Daddy’s favourite also so I would try to read my books, although I passed my examination because Daddy was going to frustrate me if I failed but I really never became a book lover.

Then I fell in love with a book addict, everywhere in his room was filled with books when I meet him but the difference was that, it was not just school books this time around, they were books about life, finance and other important life matters, he nurtured me patiently and carefully and thought me how to enjoy books that are of great impact to my life. I have read a couple of books and I even bought some that have been really helpful.

You really need to form the habit of reading.

If you want to become an excellent individual, you have to learn how to read and read well.

Reading is to the mind while exercise is to the body

Reading books improves your level of concentration, we have so many things that gets us distracted these days and reading a book is a healthy way to increase our level of concentration. I discovered that you cannot read a book and do other tasks at the same time, you have to choose between the book and the other things you want to do, this habit will help you become more concentrated with every other thing you try to do and before you know it you are becoming someone who can take a certain task at a time.

Reading books helps your level of relaxation, you certainly cannot hold a book in your arms and begin to jump around, in order to read a book you need to be more relaxed and comfortable that way your nerves are calm and ready to assimilate, before you begin to run around and the moment you have taken to read the book has surely made you very calm.

When I started reading I realized that I started becoming smarter, especially reading books relating to different topics, I was no longer a dummy and I could interact with different people related to different topics.

I hope after reading this post, you also increase your urge to read and you begin to read well, see you at the top Darlings, I am @oluwatobiloba.

I love to read books especially when it is within my area of interest. I remember I read "the battle" in just a few sittings.

Thanks a lot for reading.

The truth has always been given to reading, that has made me a nerd, and I say this with great honor he, he, he
But it's a great gain from the point of view that you see it. Reading allows you to see things differently, and as you say, it makes you smarter, it's a reality.
Good thing you have that habit. Good for you.Hello @oluwatobiloba

Reading is good but I don't know why I like audio books more, it's my way of understanding better through words that describe and paint images which I can understand much better.

Reading is a habit that we should all implement, it helps us to improve many things such as the ability to analyze, to understand, it activates our creativity, it fills us with new knowledge, it allows us to have an extensive vocabulary and also we can start a conversation with anyone we want. It is excellent!

reading is a pleasure, I've always liked to stand up in the world of fictions, magical and fantastic stories.By creating a habit, reading becomes more and more enjoyable it is a taste that is acquired over time.
