Well, I am not a salesman, but you have reminded me of a relative of mine who was and used to be good at his job :) It turns out that what you have written looks a lot like the advice he gave me when I was a young boy.

  • Show empathy.
  • It's about what you give solves a problem or gives status.
  • Listen and answer what your client needs to know and it suits you to know.
  • Work to have a good reputation, testimonials or that people send their friends with you gives you a group of loyal customers.
  • Study your product, believe in it and do not spend time attacking the competition, imply that your product is so superior that you do not have to waste time talking about any other competing product.

Surely with the years and the lack of use there are tips that I have forgotten, but I think these fit well with what you published.
