I agree that there are tensions between the need and value of an authentic education compared to simply playing the game of school. I think a formal schooling system has proven it's value. We here in Hive who share the platform, skills and abilities all operate on the basis of our early school experiences. Wherever we learned to read and write and think in our mainstream languages is a testimony to the need and success of that system. Admittedly there are limits of that system. Not many of us learned about relevant tools and technologies in school. It's then that second order of informal education or unschooling that allowed us to get this knowledge. It's complex. We need a little of both formal and informal learning to develop society.
