While I am carefully optimistic in regards to the TRON / STEEM thing we should not just lay back and dream of a bright steemy ;-) future...
The bright steemy future being one where @justinsunsteemit injects loads of dollars into steeminc and brings the tron folks over to steem leading to a thriving steem price and maybe finally merging both chains leading to a winwin situation and establishing a serious competitor to EOS and even ETH.
There is -however- the risk that it will all not turn out as it should... ending in a fight between @justinsunsteemit and us, the then upset steemy-community..
And then it would be up for the witnesses to safeguard our interests.
As far as I understand in regards to witnessvotes we have two issues atm:
1.) Everybody can vote for a witness linear to his usual upvote power ???
2.) Most people have not yet voted for a witness
So in a worst case scenario Justin could power up his 28% of steem and overpower any existing witness votes and install his own bunch of 20 witnesses and take over...
If this is all true then of course it would be of utmost importance that everybody votes for a good witness so that we get together at least 33% of all outstanding steem voting for trustworthy witnesses that could act as our trustee towards Justin...
So I personally will vote this week for a witness.. and you should do so, too...
I might have an idea for which I will vote but I would like to ask the witnesses themselves or other steemians who voted for a respective witness why they trust them and what their policies are towards Justin and tron.
Dear @solarwarrior
That's kind of true that voting on witnesses may be very important at this time. However I'm just not sure which witnesses are worth supporting. I know that some are very hostile and majority are to me quite unknown.
Would you perhaps have any recommendation?
Also I've been wondering - if indeed one day SWAP would be happening and most users will power down, then all those votes on witnesses will reduce in strength. Correct?
Is that the way steem works? Wow. I wasn't aware. Thx for sharing that valuable info.
Also one important question: even if Justin would manage to change all 20 witnesses, then we can still vote in the future and change few of those new group of 20, correct?
Upvoted and resteemed.
Yours, Piotr
Dear @crypto.piotr... no recommendation as of now... I hope that some of the witnesses will comment here and explain briefly in a few sentences what their strategy is..
That's how I understand proof of stake with witnesses.. if I am mistaken someone should correct me...
Yes.. in the future we could change back, but if he controls the 20 witnesses he can do whatever he wants to the chain.. hence eliminating the witness process and taking over control for ever.. that is just how I understand it.. again folks.. correct me if I am wrong...
I just realized that I never actually thanked you for your comment. Big thx.
Cheers, Piotr
Justin clearly stated @crypto.piotr, that he would not use his stake to:
While he obviously has a lot to learn, he seems to understand the importance of getting this straight, right "out of the gate" ...
That said, is he a man of integrity? A man of his word? We'll all find out soon enough ...
During the three years and a half I have been here, all the top 20 witnesses ultimately end up backing the decisions made by Steemit Inc. I don't see a single reason why this would change.
Because Steemit Inc would be saying they don't get to be witnesses anymore.
Like, obviously?
Of course.
@solarwarrior, This is Vital Time to think from all the Corners because no matter how bright 🔆 it's reflecting in my opinion there is not much Clarity so we have to be ready to face any kind of Consequences. So let's give strength 💪 to our Witnesses and once again let's showcase the Immutability of this Blockchain. Stay blessed.

Would you have any recommendation @chireerocks? who do you vote for?
My understanding can be wrong because in my opinion i haven't understood so many things because there are so many missing pieces to this story.
If it's good for Steem Blockchain then why we are hearing that whatever new Steem TRON Token will be launched will be considered as actual Steem on the exchanges. If it's true then in a way it's sounding as whatever efforts Steem Community have put till this date is moving towards the dust.
I don't know about TRON but somewhere i read that it works Centralised Ways. So i don't see a picture where Centralised System and Decentralised System work together.
My main concern is choice of words and by that i mean, we heard Justin clearly saying in the video as Old Steem Coins will be swapped to TRON Steem Coins, so what that means, my Knowledge is saying that it's just the process of Devaluing actual Steem.
This Subject needs so many clarifications. And in my opinion both Justin and Ned didn't showcased much interest in sharing some clarity to the Community.
Now my focus is towards my Witness Votes and we have to back our Witnesses so that they can take the right decision which will play in the interest of Steem Blockchain and Steem Community as a whole.
Whatever it is, i am Full Time Steemian and Steem is my Second Home 🏡 so i will fall with Steem or Rise with Steem.
Let's hope for the best. Stay blessed. 🙂
Hi CHireerocks, I am a Tronion familiarizing myself with Steem now. Let me add some info to your reply here. TRON doesn't work perse in Centralized ways, in TRON, 27 Super representatives (SR) are voted by the TRX holding community by freezing our TRX. These SR's can decide to make changes to the blockchain if the have a 2/3 majority of the votes. The majority of the SR's are in one or another way connected to Justin Sun and the TRONfoundation, but there are still enough community driven SR's to veto any new direction. So I would call it decentralized on paper and semi-decentralized in reality as Justin still needs to convince some community driven SR's if he wants to make a direction change to the TRON Blockchain. Now I will get back to learning about Steem :-)
Thank you so much for letting me know. In my opinion on Steem Blockchain you can experience so much for example, for fitness counts we have Actifit Application, for gaming we have Steemmonsters.com and holybread.io,for video uploads we have Dtube and 3speak.online, for photography we have appics, for music uploads we have dsound, for product review we have Steemhunt, if you want to experience Steem Blockchain on android then you have options like esteem, Partiko and 1ramp applications which you will find on Google Play Store. You can checkout Steemengine where you can find all the Tokens which are created on Steem Blockchain and it's an exchange which is running on top of the Steem Blockchain.
There are so many things to say but in my opinion you will going to find more and more day by day.
Good wishes from my side and stay blessed.
Hi @carapthian
Welcome to Steem blockchain. I've noticed that you joined steem already in december, but only posted your first articles recently? Try to consider powering up little bit. With current SP you may struggle with lack of resource credit (RC). Which in result will limit your activity here.
Cheers
Piotr
Hi Piotr, yes thanks for the tip. I joined in December when I heard the first rumors of TRON investment in Steem blockchain. But I didn't really start using it until it was finally announced. Now I will try to be active and post content as well. You will see me around more :-)
It's me again @carapthian
I just realized that I never actually thanked you for your comment. Big thx.
ps.
I would need to ask you for little favour. Recently I've decided to join small contest called "Community of the week" and I desribed our project.hope hive/community. Would you mind helping me out and RESTEEM this post - just to get some extra exposure? Your valuable comment would be also appreciated.
Link to my post: on steemit or on steempeak
Thanks :)
Yours, Piotr
Thanks for sharing your view on that issue @chireerocks
why not? full centralization sucks. however full decentralization has so many problems too. I think the only solid solution is to take best of both.
Decentralized voting and decentralized decision making sounds like crap ;) I prefer one CEO and his team to move things forward.
Cheers, Piotr
It's good until it's not altering the meaning of Other. Stay blessed brother.
Nope, no can do
I have been asking for a way to learn who are the witnesses who have the values I prefer, but nobody gives a hint. I doubt many are going to waste a lot of time reading the posts of the witnesses (say the top 100?). With each of them I would need to read at least 10 of their posts? That makes it 1000 posts to read. Heck, most steemians are not capable of reading /glancing through one or two posts a day...or week.
It is the main reasons I cancelled ALL my witnesses about 2 months ago. Since then, have not found one who tempts me to vote for him.
The nice people I know here are not witnesses.
Resteemed and upvoted already @solarwarrior
Thank you for supporting PH with your beneficiary and for using our hive to post your article :)
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 0/20 - need recharge?)
I totally agree with you @solarwarrior!
Every steemian can vote for 30 witnesses (one for one or via a proxy that he/she trusts).
Personally, I voted for 29 witnesses yet - and yes, it's not easy if you want to vote for a witness that represents which way you want steem to go.
You need to read, perhaps listen to some witness shows on Discord, etc.
But I think it's worth it because it's your investment you are protecting.
STEEM ON!!!
P.S.: I hope I never have to change that into TRON ON!!! :)
Hi @solarwarrior
It is a great idea your proposal especially to keep witnesses within the play game that Justin can provide.
However, the dilemma is which witness to vote for, I have several on my list but I do not reach my total of 30 votes.
Then which one will I vote for? Is it a dilemma to know which one is the most appropriate or do I simply give my vote to those on the list of the first 20?
Saludos.
that's exactly my problem, too...
Yes, an important and good thing to do.
Everybody has 30 votes and I always control the 30 votes I have.
My full support and even a !BEER on top
Yep, no matter what, everyone should probably vote for the top 20 witnesses. Justin Sun can vote in 20 new witnesses at any time as it stands now. The centralized attack vector that this threat poses supersedes all other imperatives concerning network security.
Then again... Steemit has always had this power from day one. :(
THX for your comment.. would be great if someone could come up with a list of voting recommendation.. as I do not know if the top 20 now are the ones to vote for...
He got a powerful stake here. Voting may help. The real answer is him voluntarily choosing not to vote or even better to turn his voting rights off.
THX a lot for your comment!
Yeah... this obviously would be the best thing.. I heard you and the witnesses discuss this in the call...
