in Project HOPE4 years ago

Good day everyone! I'm beginning a new series, titled, How To Handle Negative Feedback As An Entrepreneur/Worker?. This series promises to be interesting, educative and informative. Feedbacks are very crucial for your business success. Someone not getting regular feedbacks won't know if he/she is going the right stuff or not. And if you are doing the right stuff, some words of encouragements will boost your confidence. Also, if you are doing things the wrong way, feedback will help bring you back to your drawing board, so you can make some adjustment and improve on yourself. The best kind of feedbacks are the negative feedbacks and it is very hard to handle, like how truth is bitter.

I'm here to share with you guys, some ways in which you can be able to handle negative feedbacks adequately. In this article I will telling you guys one great way on how to handle negative feedback as an entrepreneur or a worker. Do well to enjoy the read🙂.

Don't Take It Personal

This is the very best way to handle negative feedback as an entrepreneur or a worker. You shouldn't take it personally at all. The manager or boss may just want you to do better because he/she sees great potential in you and knows you can do better. Sometimes, the way and manner the person who is giving you the feedback, might not be so nice because it's not everybody that has good control of English or expression of thoughts. They may say hurtful things which they may not think are hurtful, in order to ginger you, to work better and be your best. So, you shouldn't take every word they may say personally, but look at the main points which they want you to improve upon and focus only on that.

For instance, football coaches might be raging on their players, saying things like, "My little daughter can run faster than you" or "My grandma would score that goal you missed" or "A blind man won't lose that chance" and so on. Those are hurtful feedbacks from the players point of view but if you should take those words personally, you will be not motivated and inspired to continue playing. But most players don't take such feedbacks in such manner, because they know what their coach wants from them. Which is that, they should run faster and convert more goal scoring chances. They will be motivated and inspired to deliver for their coach, in order to make him happy. Don't take a feedback personally, no matter how harsh it may be, there's a message in every feedback. You should only be concerned with the message and points of the feedback because that's all that matters to you.

We must always accept criticism as opportunities to show ourselves the corrections we must take to improve.
It is in ourselves to convert and transform these negative aspects into opportunities to make ourselves better, strengthen ourselves and grow.

A key point to achieve this is to maintain a positive mindset and always be optimistic.
